You do realize that glam shaming is against the rules and can get you banned?
It has been specifically mentioned by the devs as not okay.

Wat is going on
Bi/Pan not Lesbian. Although, I do play Mary as a Lesbian, Marielle is Demi BI like myself. Oh and Cait, she's well every trans meme I can do. So I guess she's a Transbian. But as I'm demi, I doubt I'll ever RP that out. Also no way I want to be a guy.
Also from what I can see, you brought out the Glam ratings as an argument 1st, which brought a sick burn on your glam second. I personally don't dislike your look, but the gloves have to go. Oven Mitts are not a fashion statement.
Keep me out of your erp thanks
I wasn't rating anyone specifically unless a b decided to try me and she got what she deserved. Also did not see any burns, she didnt even say anything to burn me lol.
As for my look, the problem lies in your absence of experience when it comes to fashion overall. I mean, how inadequate do you have to be to confuse a simple mechanic look with some weird variation of a random niche thing you saw there? My look translates what it does effortlessly, and the fact that you saw something else there is not my problem, so no, the gloves are there to stay along with everything else.
I don't ERP, and as a Demi I don't do any of the "E" part IRL either. as Demi is fully a part of the Ace spectrum.
As someone who is a certified Harley-Davidson Mechanic (yes I went to a lot of different school trying to figure myself out) I can assure you, that you are not dressed like a mechanic, a welder maybe, but not a mechanic.

Great job guys
editL im genuinely laughing and agree with poster above me as well LOLLLLL
What the shit did I start? Went off to do P1S with a friend. I'm sorry but at the same time I'm not...
Not my style but I'm glad it exists for people that like it. Variety makes our Eorzea more fun.
Oh so just because I stated my opinion not directly insulting anyone I deserved to be called out directly anyway and i deserve it now? The difference between my t-shirt and the new attire is that my t-shirt is not ugly, it's not that deep and if you feel personally attacked by it then the problem is within you, not me.
I didn't say you DESERVE to be attacked... what I said was people will do it. Long of the short of it is everyone can state their opinion, but that doesn't mean other people can't state theirs. Like if I come on here and say I hate dogs, people can and WILL counter that. If you don't want people to react to your opinions then the best course of action is to not state it.
We're on the forums tho. Being fair is kindof hard. Like look at the other threads to be fair. The only thing I can say it may be how you said your opinion maybe? Maybe they took issue with the tone? I dunno. I'm not on anyone's side.. I'm just here wearing carby shoes so I can't judge ANYONE lol
At times I think they are like Kermit here:

I knew this thread would turn into a shitshow once a couple of people started to state their dislike for it.
Well that escalated rather quick lmao.
Great fashion/glam reviews btw. However questionably it started, I enjoyed reading each stated points.
Are we still playing "post our glam?" I wanna join in:

It's my Machinist glamour and hasn't been updated since Stormblood admittedly. My main attire is in my sig below.
As for the street glamour, it looks nice for those who are into that type of fashion. Personally the only thing I would go for would be the crop top/jacket. Don't care for the backwards cap or the "I can't believe they're not moon" boots. The pants seem not too different from the one from the Strife set. If you like this, then more power to you but it's not for me.
EDIT: Looks like the profile changes depending on my equip. It's on my NIN Plate/Main Glamour now.

All I have to say is that it's pretty depressing seeing some characters look like they just stepped out of Fortnite, lol.
You realize that most Final Fantasy games are Post Modern Magitech games with heavy influences from Star Wars. You realize you are dressed like a Sith Lord right now? I personally wouldn't know what Fortnight characters look like, but I do understand it has a lot of modern fantasy crossovers to include Super Heroes and Star Wars characters.
Spoiler for Endwalker bits:
FFXIV has post WW2 Soviet Russia recreated with Mecha and Computers, we fly in a Space Ship, seriously didn't anyone else get a Normandy SR2 vide from that moment. FFXIV could easily take place in our future, if they didn't have us go back and visit the world before. Hells, in Final Fantasy Canon, from other media, our Earth is represented in the Final Fantasy Cosmos as three different worlds. Earth destroyed, Japan partially Destroyed, and Earth as it is now. There is more than a fair bit of lore to suggest people from our world have fallen to the Source on more than one occasion.
So no, modern fashion being in FFXIV fits the lore and setting fairly well.
Oh... and Tomestones are either old Smart Phones, or old Computer Memory chips.
How's mine? How's mine??

This thread is a good example of why people over the age of 25 should not be able to use the forums.
I don't even think age is an issue. It's more where you're at and what mindset has developed. There's a very conservative vibe that comes through from people that are opposed to outfits like the streetwear. They hold onto that idea of what a fantasy game should be like, while ignoring the other games that have come before and after this one, where that medieval style of dress is almost non-existent. For me, it was a welcome change.
I'm more creative and artistic to begin with. I've played enough fantasy games as a caster and been tied to the robe aesthetic. It's been so good to break free of that as well as try to look just a little different from others. I started getting some nice reactions and it just inspired more creativity.
As far as the new outfit is concerned, I enjoy different parts of it. i love the touch of Yoshi drip, which we definitely saw in the last LL. I'm just waiting for the novelty to wear off on this one. I'm still playing around with the Tataru and Ameliance gear for the same reason.
I love it, conjures memories of the late 90s lol. Good times. I won't buy it, but it's funny to see.
Buzz off. I'd wager the demographic of the game is over 30.
Average age only increases over time. It's harder to get the young into games you pay a sub fee for. A number of years ago, wow said its average player age was 35. Wouldn't surprise me if it were similar here.
to be fair its not that hard to understand why people don't like this stuff. If you come from more standard fantasy stuff to FF, its easy to look at this and think its dumb. I never played any other FF before getting into this, so it took some time getting used to, But I learned to just roll with it and have fun.
its like when you go from a place like Gridania where you got a fairly standard elf'y town with nature, bows and old style clothing, to stuff like Garlemald with cars, guns and high techology, its kinda hard to not ask the question of why most people are still using bows and axes while looking like mediveal peasants.
the game is so all over the place with tone, setting and style, Its kinda wierd at first, but as I understand it, thats just how FF works.
You have to learn to just roll with it, and accept that anything goes in this game. doesn't mean you have to like it, but that's just how it is.
It's only weird until you realize that over half the human population on Earth today still wears medieval traditional clothing as standard, and thanks to aether and magic, bows and swords can face off against guns, mechs, and airships with ease. From a western Civilization point of view it seems strange, but from any culture outside of North America or Europe, it seems normal.
