I am currently experiencing this same issue right now and it started last Friday, may I know if you already fixed yours? btw, I do not want to use VPN because it is an additional expense for me.

Methods I used to fix:
1. reset router
2. reinstall the game
3. disable large send offload setting
4. flushdns
5. disable upnp usage
6. limit fps to below 120 fps
7. switching to googles DNS on windows

I do not know what to do anymore, is there anyone who can help us here?

If it just was a temporary disturbance, i (and probably everyone else) wouldn't mind. But you can see a pattern. Everytime characters changing the area or gone through loading sequences, the game disconnect you from the server. This is occurring since patch 5.35. Before then everything went fine. Even on new Add-Ons etc. This is basicly not due to user overload. You can check the other pages on this thread, where people have evidence, that the connection dies next to the last hop reaching the Square Enix Gateway.

So you can't just walk along and give a general call-out for a certainly specific matter.

My wife is the only one that is having the issue whereas I have never had it.

Just in case anyone is interrested, in my case the issue was fixed (at least I think it was) by upgrading my network card. I considered the option after noticing the errors didn't happen with an ethernet cable, but this option isn't really practical for me so I looked into buying a better wifi card, and it seems like that worked.

I am alternating 90002/90006 issues as well.

I was able to resolve the 90002 error when connecting to the world server by adding the following tcp ports on my Cisco Firewall.
54992, 54993 and 54994
55006 to 55007
then,
55021 to 55040 (add the whole range, that's 55022... 55023... 55024 and so on)

I've been getting 900002 at the rate of about 2 an hour since maintenance, making endgame unplayable.

EDIT2: Wiresharked this and am seeing RST packets coming from the server causing sudden terminations:

Constant 90002/90006 here aswell and have already opened all ports suggested/ran test/prayed to local eikons and nothing has helped. Ping test so no issues but something has happened since this update. Prior to this I had maybe 2 errors a month?

Are you lagging/freezing before disconnect or is it sudden?
What is your ISP?

I'm seeing the same thing tonight as well. Using AT&T Fiber.

WINMTR Showed 25% packet loss on ae-4.r00.scrmca02.us.bb.gin.ntt.net and 204.2.229.234

ATT here also and I am fighting to stay connected in game. It just started not too long ago. It was doing great when I first turned the game on tonight and then suddenly this.

I had to fight ATT with this same exactly issue just before Thanksgiving and now it has reared its ugly head yet again.

I was fine for the past few weeks when I bought the game. In the last few days I started getting the occasional disconnect (rest of internet is fine) and now today it keeps happening I can't play more than a few minutes before I end up getting this disconnection error. Sometimes the disconnect even happens while I'm in the queue to get in the world.

For the past couple of months I've also had this issue, where I just disconnect randomly. No lag, no packet loss, just instant disconnect.

I've been dcing since today, too >.< "Server connection was lost" Error 90001 is what i keep getting when it happens. Very annoying

Same here. It started this morning. I had several Errors before. But now iam in a queue of about 450+ people. And after this i get the 90002/90001 Error. No Chance to get on the server today ( Server : Lich )

Light Datacenter issues I encountered earlier seem solved. Now I run into 90002 errors as well. I never had these before. It seems fine as long as I dont go into any instances, but as soon as I enter a dungeon (in this case a run with Trusts) I get disconnected with a 90002 error within seconds.

It's the same for me on the Light Datacenter (the server Phoenix, in my case). Logging in the world and teleporting around is fine, but when I enter an instance, I get kicked out a few seconds afterwards, with a 90001/90002 error. Judging from the logging queue, I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Luckily I could leave the dungeon (with the 30 minutes penalty timer :) )

Those damn Bots owners, causing the Login issues. Everyday we have a Login-Queue of over 160+ Ppl wana to login between 9 - 10am in Germany. That sux.


When did SE finally change there Companion API to keep that Assholes out of the Game.:mad:

I just downloaded ShB as it looked good and I had heard a lot about it as well,,,starting to regret decision as I am having the same issues as well. Always at the worst time and it has never been ISP related. 90006/2 and sometimes 2002...I believe that was the error code, but had it way less frequently than 90006!

Same issues since I began playing again about a week ago, 90006 usually though, and I am on Aether/ MidgardSmr. Really regretting the $60 plus I dropped to get ShB and a month of FFXIV sub for constant DCs! SE needs to fix this ASAP. Looks like it has been ongoing since early April 2020...not comforting it is still an issue. They need to start issuing refunds if they are not going to fix this!

I've also started to encounter the same issue. Frequent disconnects and error messages. It only happens with FFXIV, not other games and it always happens during prime time hours on Cerberus - so I'm inclined to think there's way too much strain on the EU servers during the evenings. I know there's a lot more activity than usual lately due to the Ishgard reconstruction and associated ranking competition.

For me, it's always a combination of Error 90002 and Error 90006. It's interfering with my ability to play the game.

Just got 2 disconnects (error 90002) in 1 dungeon as tank, it gets better every day.....

I somehow doubt this will ever be read.



Thus I hesitate to even mention this as I do not feel it has any meaning to anyone except me.



It is nice to rant but rant's are usually meaningless...this is an issue that has caused me to fail on numerous duties over the past several days because I was disconnected from the server after extreme lag; the lag passes...then the disconnect. Most recently during last boss in a duty, where boss was nearly dead (trust) and then the lag...then the disconnect.


This has been going on for the last three days.



The error is "You have been disconnected from the server".

The code is always 90001 or 90002.

There are no disconnect errors with anything else except for FFXIV server(s).

The NTT network is once again being garbage. Nearly 50% packet loss on one of their nodes.

I know NTT is a Japanese company and that is why SE changed over to them for the NA servers but it's been really bad ever since they did. NTT is always having hardware problems. SE doesn't seem to be putting pressure on them to get the problems fixed once and for all.

Yesterday I got a message from support, I need to be patient, they working hard to find to problem.

Today another message from support, I need to post 'my' problem on the forum so it can be investigated.....

It was fine for a day or two and now I have the exact same problem. It's only an issue with FFXIV. Everything else works fine.

Just got another message from support.

Apparently we're all lying. All those ping, tracert and other test are false.

They found the solution, it's our networks or ISP

I've been experiencing this issue on my main character, but not on my alts, all of whom do not share the same routing ip as my main does. My husband, who plays in the same house with me, has no issues. We both route to the server through different server IPs.

We've followed all the generic support-suggested tips. It is SE's server routing that's the issue. Not people's ISPs. Whilst some issues can certainly be an ISP, sometimes, that isn't the case. This is one of them. I work in IT as a SQL server data analyst and this is just gross negligence on SE's part. It's obvious what the issue is.

I'm disconnecting so much and so often on my main character that I cannot even gather from nodes, let alone do anything. This isn't what I'm paying money for every month. I can play on my alts just fine, but I would like to also use my main for post-MSQ content. I can't do that with constant lag spikes and disconnects.
