I posted the link because people are asking why they got banned and saying they didn't know what the TOS said. I posted it to be helpful. Now they can read the guidelines if they didn't know where to find them. (and they were less than simple to find.)

It may help if people keep in mind that this is a Japanese game and they strive to be polite at all times, as far as I can tell. Maybe we should do the same on their forums.

Again, people are reporting getting their posts removed despite being within the guidelines while others are not, that's why they're questioning the reasons. Now I can't verify whether what they say is valid, all I can do is take their word for it, however, I see no reason for anyone to lie about something like this. Also, these are the North American forums, not the Japanese forums. They are moderated very differently from what I understand.

All you need to do is be polite and you won't be banned!

It's up to the individual / mod as to what is polite. This can lead to all kinds of inconsistencies depending on how much of a snowflake the mod may be.

obviously you haven't played FFXI, there were a ton of japanese players who were very not so polite excluding people from party's talking crap about people wanna know why we had a friend who was fluent even said don't speak english that he did not want to lose party for being friends with a english player now does that sound polite?

everyone strives to be polite not a single group of people.
