The chimera itself looks cool but they need to stop making this timed crap, although it would be cool with extensions and stuff.

There's nothing wrong with timed Dungeons.. In fact in XI there's wasn't enough of them :/ Still was an awesome game never the less.. Timed Instances.. DO add challenge, however time isn't the only thing to make a Dungeon Challenging, mobs have to be Balanced to a certain strength, and the positioning of the mobs. =)
FFS where did all this BS bandwagon jumping on the time cap of raids come from? Your all ridiculous.
Also, of course it is a Copperbell Mines look-a-like, its in the same zone, what do you want? Underwater?
Why complain so hard when you know 2.0 is coming? Everyone has the right to be disappointed with stuff, but the way people say "SE you f****d up" because a MNK has a head-tail or a cave with sand in it is the same as another cave with sand in it... geezus.
wonder if its for jobs, wonder if the boss was only the middle boss.
I'm fine with there being some generic dungeons like this, nothing wrong with that realy.
Cutters Cry will probably be many hours of fun(and hopefully challenge).
It's just that atm we don't realy have anything(dungeon wise) that isn't generic, so I guess alot of people had their hopes up for something more unique.
Tip; never get your hopes up for anything and your less likey to ever be very disapointed :>
the thing is, Timed dungeons and having to clear all MOBs are 2 separate issues
Time limit or not... If you don't have to clear any MOBs and they are on a leash... people will just power through them
If MOBs need to be cleared AND there was still a time limit... I would be ok with that
The larger Ant with minions is probably the 1st boss and Chimera the 2nd, doubt they will fit 3 bosses in a 1h time limit unless there is time extension avaliable(very doubtful).
Basicly same as how Darkhold worked.
Expect the other yet to be shown dungeon to follow that exact formula as well.
At the end of the day.. time limit or not... its something to do...
And for that, SE, we thank you
i hope you have to kill everything before you can go to the next area, or at least be a high level version of toto rak.
I wonder if there will even be enough people to make a group for this since the world merger isn't until the end of the month. I got to 50 later then everyone else didn't even get to do the old stuff because nobody did shouts for them.
They put Merger After 1.21, to see if the Population will Spike because of Jobs and for how long.. before making a Final Decision on them or at the very least increase the max pop per server if the case arises that the Spike sticks around for a awhile. but I still know the Merger will happen.
Noticed a lot of new 50's on Rabanastre lately (and many shouts for various). I've no doubt you won't have problem finding people.
There were people shouting for DH and random people grouping up at dungeon entrance when it came out (well, people start doing it one or two weeks after patch normally).
Not going to look through 22 pages, just going to say...Only 4 party members for a good portion of the video.
That would be kinda cool if the party got separated because of an accidental quicksand activation, and had to regroup to take down the Chimera.
The next dungeon is in Coerthas right? I wonder if you'll have to fight the Wyvern there?
Anyone notice that the chocobo and gobbue mount icons are missing in the quick menu?
Yeah, they will be pre-mades running on their internal test server so probably have not entered quest data for everything including mounts.
They need a full build running on the test client and server, if they don't it could make things unstable, remember the cure bug in ffxi, all cures would hit undead for 9,999, cure was not even touched, changing one part of a program can bug completly unrelated parts.
There are still only 5 skills for jobs. If you check the Monk's skills the 3rd bar has 3 skills with the monk symbol on them(Hundred Fists, a Kick looking spell and Fists of Wind). The second bar has another (Dragon Kick) and the first bar has the dash looking spell.
If anything, I want to know what those marks on the skills mean.
Edit: Nvm, seems like its the direction needed for the combo.
Also seems like he's using Fist of Wind but no MP loss when he fights the chimera, maybe the outcome of the MP refresh from bard? Second Wind seems to take no TP as well, this is quite interesting o.O
I noticed throughout that whole video pretty much only PLD takes any damage. It doesn't seem to be a lot of damage either. So it seems the mobs in here don't AoE often if at all, including bosses, cause WAR and MNK are straight up in there.
It also seems that PLD is an awesome tank, holding all the mobs while taking minimal damage. This kind of makes me question how "challenging" this dungeon is. These people don't appear to be struggling at all. Also note that they're getting along fine with their stationary casting and without all their cross class abilities.
Last, I noticed with the food buffs at chimera that PLD has over 4k HP while WAR had over 5k. I know they don't have +HP materia either since AF gear isn't meld-able... So either job stats, AF gear, or both are awesome.
i'm ready to kick that thing in the face
People don't bother as much with older content basicly cause its old and they are tired of it(I havent done much besides crafting myself last few months)or don't feel like they got anything to do in game and simply don't log on as much.
Can expect to see alot of activity the coming weeks after patch.
You'll find this happen regulary in any MMORPG but its more noticable in smaller communities.
the inflated HP is coming from the WAR(?) HP+ ability, fades around 3:17/3:18min, adds around 1000hp to the pld, differing amounts to mnk and mages
Im not THAT excited of watching the video... its almost the same appearance of a normal dungeon in Thanalan.
i would have loved somethin really different .
and why can a boss have not more than just one attack spot? a chimera would have been perfect to have maybe around 3 different attack spots (3 heads).
in Offline Final Fantasys we have that, where you can attack for example the head or the big hand of a big boss mob.. why not in FF Online for more complexity?
