We're all disappointed in the lack of information regarding 1.21 each and every weekday morning.

The difference is while some of us simply accept it for what it is and proceed to wait, others feel they are entitled to more information and thus proceed to whine and demand to be fed hype.

The fact of the matter is they are not obligated to release information at any given rate. It's something they can do as a bonus - something to satisfy the players and reinforce their patience.

We are not asking for a daily update, we are asking for a single update in regards to the situation. You are right however, they are not obligated to give us anything, however, this game is still on thin ice and you have to do what you can to keep your subscribers in. Not simply coming out and giving a simple update on what is going on in 1.21 (when it has already been delayed) is just keeping us in the dark and looks really bad on their end.

I work for a company where if delays happen, we immediately let our customers know and inform them on a constant basis on the situation at hand. Are we obligated to do that? No, we can just say "It happens when it happens.", but guess what? This makes us as a company look bad if we decide to do that, because we acknowledge how important our customers are and if they payed for something, they deserve to be informed on what is going on. Last thing we want is the customer thinking they would be better off with another company who will provide better service and experience.

Simply coming out and saying "We are still working bugs in 1.21 and will have to be delayed a little longer." is all you have to come out and say if that is the case. I would not be here griping to you right now if that was the case. Hell don't even have to give a date.

Seven days without patch information, especially with the patch supposedly coming in at the end of the month is sounding sketchy to me.

First. Im not angry. Secondly, already been to work and went to the gym for and hour and a half. I've done both my "outside" and "productive" thing. Any other retarded presumptions you'd like to make? Thirdly thats not relevant in even the smallest way. Thousands of left the game which is why they have to shrink and get rid of the servers. Thats a statement right there on how fantastic this game is.

You'd think they'd press some hype into this time of lull to get those people back. Oh wait, they've got droves of White Knights that will defend every asinine thing they do to the grave.

The game was utter rubbish when it was released, most of us are hard core Final Fantasy fans that already before the launch were waiting for this game like the rising moon. We are still here and supporting the dev team... even after we have been through so much garbage.
I hardly play that game but I pay for it just for the support... so YES, I am fed up that I am not being told when the updates are happening and whats going on.

I get your point. Its just meaningless to me or the discussion at hand. Shouldn't you run along to and have fun in the game instead of explaining this to me?

Patch will come when it comes. S-E hasn't given a concrete release date, so I don't see what all of the fuss is about. This is a pretty major patch that is adding a lot of very large, and new mechanics to the gameplay. S-E needs to get it right the first, otherwise FFXIV becomes unplayable, and we don't want that. I've seen what happens when game developers introduce new mechanics to a game, and it doesn't work the first time around; this was done in Anarchy Online, and it made the game unplayable for everyone, it was a disaster, and the developer had to roll back the update and bring the game down for a few days.

nobody is complaining about the delay(i dont think) they are complaining about being left in the dark for so long regarding the delay.

The point has been, and remains, that if there is no info to talk about on the forums it doesn't justify whining threads where people just talk about how there is nothing to talk about. Is it really tough to see how sad that it? Many more things to do in a day than wait for info for a video game, then rage if no info.

I wouldn't call it nothing. As long as you come out and say what is going on, then that is communication. I understand if they can't give an exact date, I won't pretend to know how their work methods are and what exactly is going on, but if they are telling me what the situation is, then I am happy honestly.

You can white knight all you want. If the game was still free I'd say hell with it. We get what we get whenever we get it, it's free. However, you made promises and made us pay for it, you better deliver. If it was a guy fixing your car, tv, or w/e else you'd be in his face right away if he was giving you "wait a little while longer" and btw pay me for another month of work even though I said it would be ready month ago.

It's best if players focus discussion within either the main announcement thread, or maybe their forums. I didn't know common sense counted as white-knighting.

Why can't people stop kissing ass and just accept the fact that we are updated on patch news extremely slowly and that it's aggravating to most of us who are anxious over it? The game is getting more boring every day we have to wait for the patch/patch news.
