Second sub unlocks when you reach Unidentified Derelict, and two is max right now.

Just started myself after long Hiatus and i found till sector SRT now UN and while leveling up ! i will post some my sub result if anything interesting !

The salvaged accessories, are they just for selling to an NPC? I'm guessing they are since the description says so but still xD

they are not crafting items - it would say if they were. like Clear demimateria and allagan pieces it's simply there for vendoring off.

Submersible Parts list

Anyone have any thoughts on if the next installment of submarine advancement will be in 4.25 or 4.3?

Since 4.2 I have been maintaining a personal submarine loot list (mostly items I have gotten myself with a few entries based on others screenshots)
Since this list may contain a few additions not yet on the official list, I felt it was worth sharing here.

Me too, it is like the holy grail of submarine drops.

yeah is there a minimum favor/retrieval rating to get one (or two)? really need these to show up so i can get the last minion.

If its similar to airships then its mostly just low RNG rates. I don't think favor was conclusively proven to affect getting the rare drops, it mostly seemed to affect NQ/HQ rates while retrieval affected how much you got.

I find the timer app on my ipad works great, I monitor all 3 of my FC's vessels with it pretty well. I had to download it but its free.

I finally got a colossus slab. The sub has:

Surv: 110
Ret: 50
Spd: 70
Range: 105
Favor: 70

Hull, Stern, Bow are all Unkai
Bridge is Shark

This seems to be very RNG dependant and/or my parts have the wrong combination of stats.

I got one of the Colossus Slabs early on after I upgraded my then newly level 20 sub. It's all Unkai parts now. The Shark parts are now on sub #2. I've gotten one of the slabs and one jelly minion in about 6 runs so far. Never got anything useful with Shark parts while leveling sub #1 so will likely swap out all the parts again when the second sub hits 20.

The shark parts have 30 surveillance total which is why you don't get anything good leveling up with them. Just replacing the hull and the stern with Unkiu parts brings that up to 100.

Is it possible to get any minions from the base shark level 1? Ive sent my ships out over a month and NOTHING, i find it hard to believe RNG is that low.

I don't believe it's possible because the surveillance is so low (hull & stern actually have a negative value for it). There's a minimum surveillance level set to get certain items (behind the scenes, we have to guess), but you're still fighting rng. I know I got a minion from replacing those two parts, but it still took a few trips.

I have 16 submarines (on main and alts), half of them on your setup and half on other setups, I didn't get any slab at all. I even tried a lot of setups, and got the results that it has VERY low drop rate, and there's no perfect setup for it.
1st: The submarine has to face normal weather in Neolith Island (which has a low RNG rate), because no matter the setup you have, the submarine still gets "exploratory capability may be significantly hindered" on bad weather. (I tried max surveillance, max Favor, even max retrieval, and even max possible mix of surveillance and Favor) (I even tried sending the submarine from other sectors to Neolith Island, I got different weather conditions, but still no slab)

2nd: if you you get a good RNG with weather (no bad weather), you still have to face the low drop rate of the slab.

Good info, ty! Just got our first one today. Got really excited and then saw it takes 2 to make the minion. Really hope the drop rate improves on this eventually.

i mean it's really REALLY low drop rate - even now the Market Board listing for Colossus Slabs on Hyperion doesn't fill the window and the sale history only has like 8 or 9 purchased. i've only seen one person going around with the Private Moai minion out and I know they bought their slabs off the MB. Just one of those RNGesus things. sigh

That makes 3 slabs and 2 minions in about two weeks. Previously obtained items came one at a time.

I've gotten several slabs, it seems to only come from 115 surveillance setups in my experience.

i have never seen the "seas clear and calm" message for Neolith Island :( stupid rng.

Finally I am getting those Colossus slabs! Getting 1 about every 3 days or so.

Using this set up:

unkiu-class pressure hull
unkiu-class stern
unkiu-class bow
shark-class bridge

Surveillance 110
Retrieval 50
Speed 70
Range 105
Favor 70

I have somewhere between 7-10 subs, but only 3 have max lvl parts ; that being said I have gotten 3 slabs since those 3 got upgraded. My probability rate seems to be 25-33% between those 3 going out.

Deep-sea site 1:
19 Quicktongue materia 2
23 chunks of ferberite

Deep-sea site 3:
17 savage might materia 2

Unidentified derelict:
25 diamonds.
