A Love Letter to Twintania
To my first love, Twintania,
For the past four years, my love for you has burned like the damage-over-time from your liquid hell. Do you remember when we first met? I never expected such beauty to be locked in the Binding Coils. It was almost as if you were restricted from the realm for several months.
We stood there, our eyes locked for what seemed like forever... as I stoneskinned my party... one-by-one. It was a futile effort. Within mere moments, your death sentence felled my tank. Oh! How I trembled as I, an inexperienced white mage without the knowledge of thaumaturgy and swiftcast, slowly cast a raise upon my unconscious tank. When next our eyes met, you could not contain the fires of your passion! Nor could I as I basked in the heat of your fireball, my party frozen in awe of your conflagration.
Asclepius tried to slither between us, but he could not keep me from you, Twin! When you dived at me, I knew that you felt the same as I did. The force of your love knocked me into a purple oblivion. I came to only to be blinded once more for the love in your aether was profuse. The emotions that we shared confused us both—a confusion that you represented in the twisters you hurtled. Like our passion, they exploded and consumed everyone.
I was stunned by you, Twin—and not just by the dreadknight that approached me. You threw everything you had at me, but alas! Our time had to end. I will miss you forever; however, as a wandering minstrel reminded me, you live on in the unending coils of my heart.
Your truest love,

For the Storm In My Heart
Lyse,
Doubtless you will find this letter strange. I've never spoken a word aloud in the time we've known one another, nor written one down outside of paperwork. But wordless nods of the head and meeting my fist to my palm can only go so far in expressing how I feel.
When I first met you, as a fresh-faced traveller who had no clue of the destiny that lay before her, I admit I was unimpressed. But as time went on, and I met you, truly you, I couldn't help but feel a stirring.
As a Qestir, it was a fact of life that words were lies. All beings on this star could only be trusted by their actions, and nothing else. But you've shaken the very core of that belief, that upbringing. When I hear you speak of love for a home you've lost, a sister you still honor, and a duty to uphold, I feel your conviction. I feel your pain, your longing, your laughter and your happiness, all at once. If your words were merely words, then I would not be writing the first letter of my life.
I am aware your life is busy in Rhalgr's Reach, and indeed all of Ala Mhigo. But this Valentione's Day, nothing would make me happier than setting aside one measly day to spend together. We could sit, side by side, in the palm of the Destroyer, and watch the sunset.
I'll let you do the talking.
Yours,
Yesugen Qestir

To Ukyo, Independent Repairman of Kugane Dori
Wearily venturing homeward,
axe notched and tabard torn,
amidst the clamor and din of trade,
the rushing sound of feet on stone,
and steady chant of lapping water,
with folded hands and gentle gaze,
you calmly wait.
As the nostalgic aroma of miso drifts, swirls,
You deftly brush your hair aside,
Leaves mirrored on midnight water.
Into your arms you take the scuffed, the grazed,
The cracked and bruised,
Then softly, swiftly,
A moment in time too fast to grasp,
The creases are smoothed,
And wounds are sealed,
The clamor retreats and
You nod and turn to the one beside me,
A wave crashes,
The street chatters with itself,
my heart flutters.

From One Mongrel To Another

To my dearest Hilda,
Ours is a solitary existence. Souls born in two worlds yet never quite belonging to either. Shun by one, not trusted by the other. So I went on in life, feeling like I’d never find a place to call home. That is until Nymeia saw fit to bring me to Ishgard. A nation eternally at war both externally and internally, an existence that mimics our own.
It was here that I first heard rumors of the Mongrel. What person could bring such fear to the insulated upper class, I wondered? In you I found the answer. The way you carried yourself with such bravado; embracing the hatred fired at you just because of your parentage. It was through you that I was finally able to be confident in myself and not be ashamed of who I was.
Our time together was brief but never have I felt as alive as I did then. We helped bring a better life to the Brume one bullet at a time. Having you at my back, comforted by your catchphrase 'One shot, one kill!’ as we battled corrupt nobles and their abominations. Nothing beats the adventures we had together.
So thank you, Hilda, for being a true friend. Thoughts of you and your strength have kept me going through the bleakest moments here on the Ala Mhigan front. I long for the day we can continue hunting injustice like the hounds of hell.

Dear, Tancred Waters
I don’t understand why I find you attractive don’t get me wrong you are a handsome man but you are always chasing every skirt that comes along. If you want to find a wife and settle down you should only chase one women’s skirt mine. You are such a scoundrel, bad boy, rabble and a wild untamable rose with thorns. Maybe there is just something about the ruggedness I like or maybe it’s just your pretty face and biceps I found maybe myself attracted too. Yeah, I am pretty sure this attraction is only physically maybe emotional but not romantic. Ok, I lied maybe this attraction is a romantic one.

Sweet words for the Naadam of the Heart

Across Eorzea I am renowned;
A hero to all - Warrior of Light,
But find here on the Steppe, far from my home,
One soul who shines, in my eyes, much more bright.
Though Doman teachings have been known to me,
The Xaelan life took me by some surprise.
And so, on these battle-contested plains,
Did strange new feelings in my heart arise.
Bloodthirsty, I was warned, are the Dotharl,
Facing death gives them no measure of fear.
But in our meeting did I learn the truth:
These brave spirits keep valorous kin near.
Leading the charge, an obsidian mage;
From a life lived past does she take her name.
When first we spoke, my heart was enraptured
By this beauty who is called Heavensflame.
I confess to you, dearest of Nhaama,
Even if we don’t get to say "I do,"
I hope someday, even another life,
May bring together Myri and Sadu.

To an unlikely friend. My enemy.
You were a blight unto Eorzea.
You’ve killed.
You’ve maimed.
You’ve taken friends and loved ones.
You allowed yourself to be taken into a beast, a… Monster. The eikon Shinryu.
In cutting you down I saved thousands, millions, the entire world.
And yet… Here I am.
The Warrior of Light.
The Savior of Eorzea.
Your enemy.
Whether your body was returned to the Aether or sent to some realm the Twelve deem fit for your soul, I would not like to know.
But I would have one final battle with you. A worthy opponent to test my mettle.
Were we to meet on better terms, perhaps there could have been more.
But you’re gone. And I’m here.
Zenos yae Galvus. Our time was short, and yet you’ve persisted in my mind for months.
May we see each other again, my friend. My enemy.

Confession to Iceheart, a Bard's tale
https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...830&height=467
My dearest Ysayle,
Let's begin where we started, a Play, in Bard fashion;
But word count is limited, so I sing this with passion.
Start...
On our first meeting, you spoke of peace;
Many yet fear you, can hostilities cease?
Iceheart.
Was mine victory true? Mayhap simply more vital;
Thine company decreed their champion a new title...
Icebreaker.
We meet again, twice over, still searching for truth;
Fool's errands, a peace treaty? The reality, uncouth.
Forward...
Our band o' merry renegades, ere nary had been mixed;
Twice tribes had problems, a night together after the fix.
Truth
Hraesvelgr told us all the truth, giving light to our eyes;
Ishgard's fall, Ysayle's love and beliefs. Everything; Lies!
Nidhogg
Our goal now folly, we look to the skies;
To the Aery, we fly! Another eye, the prize.
Home
Plucked from its head, returned to its donor;
Bringing news of peace. To Ishgard! Its owner!
Escalation
You soothed heretic hearts who yet toil.
Thordan and knights flee, bloods still boil.
Confrontation
Surprise! Garlemald is here in force;
Press forward! Now, steady our course!
Intermission: A Jest
An airship so massive, almost ostentatiously so;
Mayhap overcompensating, no sires yet grow?
Always lacking magicks, thus improving technology;
Completing with toys, what they can't with biology.
Her Sacrifice.
Securing an escape, mine savior, Ysayle;
Embracing the Echo, halting their sail.
She's falling!
Save her my Echo! Hydaelyn! Twelvesgods! Whomever!
It's too late!? I failed! My love... lost forever...?
Pursuit
Their crimes numerous, all know, call a jury
Gods know not my Wrath, nor Halone, MY Fury!
Aftermath
We won. It ended. You now mine Icebreaker;
Only you can soothe this Iceheart his anger.
Ice Branded
Tis Valentione’s Day,
Mine only wish, pray;
Forgive me, Ysayle... mayhap, something else;
Grant me the courage to forgive myself.

Another venture for a special retainer
Dear U’lui,
It’s been awhile since I last summoned you and sent you on a venture. So busy has the adventuring life been that I’ve scarcely had time to rest. Doubtless you’re wondering what I’ve been up to lately. Talking about my recent adventures however isn’t what I sent this letter to you for. I sent this letter because...I wanted to send on you on another venture, albeit this one being different. There aren’t any venture coins placed in this letter, but I’ll explain why that is. You remember the time we first met, how excited I was that a refined Miqo’te like yourself would be working with me, and yet you had hints of worry about performing your services perfectly. As protocol dictates, too many mistakes would cause a retainer to lose his/her position, and yet the more mistakes I saw you make and attempt to cover up, the more I found myself being drawn to you overtime. Whenever I summoned you, you asked me to tell you my heart’s desire. Well, for this venture I’m sending you on, I don’t want you just to explore another land for any material, but I want you to explore your own heart armed with these three words. “I love you.” If you happen to find those same words resting in your own heart at the end of your venture, I ask that you return them to me whenever you feel the time is right. If you...if you don’t feel like I should receive them however, then I pray you hold onto those words until you find the right person to give them to. Until then, this’ll be my last request until I take my leave for Ishgard, for the dragons stir once more for war.

To Ser Alaimbert: Be My Valentione
https://img2.finalfantasyxiv.com/acc...af1919fbae.png
My Dearest Alaimbert,
It is my sincerest wish that this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I must confess, I have long considered calling upon you - but am finding the nerve only now to do so. I write for two reasons. First, to wish you a most pleasant Valentione’s day. If you have not yet been able, you should visit the fortune tellers in Gridania. They tell me that honey yellow is my lucky color, thus I hope you enjoy the flowers accompanying this letter. Second, I write with an admission and a proposal of sorts.
Long have I contented myself to admiring you from a distance. Mine heart skips a beat like a giddy child with each thrust of thy mighty spear toward those who would endeavor to make of you the butt of their unceasing jests. If you but asked, I would gladly join accompany you upon the field, ‘til death or ‘til victory, two righteous backends united in glorious combat!
My spear, and my butt, are yours to command, my Lord! That is to say, yours is a cause I can truly get behind.
I beseech thee, Alaimbert, do not turn away from me. I so hate to witness your retreat, but confess that I do delight to see thy departure.

A Valentione Sonnet for Urianger
Dearest Urianger,
As Valentione's Day approaches, I couldn't help but notice that you don't seem to do much in the way of celebrating, which I find a shame, considering your fondness for poetry. And so, I thought I might write this piece about you, to inspire you to find your muse (or, at least, to amuse you):
Every curl of thy lip and raise of thy brow
That my wandering eye doth regard
Delivereth me away from the now,
Unto a place only the mind doth guard.
Thy words, though ardent and articulate
Become lost amid such a lovely sight;
A vision so charming and consummate,
That thy whole visage doth seem alight.
And when the time for speaking doth close,
And the moment of response is nigh,
I reflect upon thy masterful prose,
And fail to stifle my bashful sigh.
For while my eyes hath wandered away,
Mine ears hath also gone astray.
Happy Valentione's Day, Urianger!
