ok...so..is it $5/180days or is it $8/180days? Because $36 extra a year will make the difference for me...
Someone broke it down earlier in the thread...
For 180 days:: 4.99 (to play game) + 3.00 (for 1 character/2 Retainers) = 7.99 * 6 Months
So for 180 days it will be: $47.94 every six months while we have this discount.
Which imo is a really good price, but I know others don't think that.
so...we're being charged for an account..AND a character? I thought we got 1 character slot for free? At least, that's what it said when I set up payment...which would mean it's only $4.99 * 6 months. If we're charged an additional character fee just to play as 1 character, that's dumb. Being charged for a character separately from an account (which we can't use without a character) is a really bad idea. Charging for additional characters, yeah, ok, fine, but....really? We can't seriously get charged for our 1 "free" slot...can we?
Edit: k...apparently we can be charged for a free slot...that's really really dumb...*sigh* but I guess $5 less a month isn't so bad...considering I am playing a Beta 2
you do realize you pay for them separately, right? You buy an account, then set up another payment option for characters...which is making things more difficult than it is. It should be "Basic account (Includes 1 free character slot) - $9.99/month, $7.99/6months,etc)" It would be much easier to set up in a payment page that is already difficult to manipulate.
i signed up on day 1...of course i know this
and it made sense to me back then too
since the advertised price was 12.99 back then, which was 9.99 + 3 per character
its simple math, it makes sense, people need to try seeing it for what it is, not for how they word it
SE tends to be silly in their explanations, Dubont lol, I think they basically wanted people to know it's $3.00 per character so did it that way.
But basically it's 7.99$ a month on the 180 day payment to play the game with one character, which equals the price per 6 months that I quoted you a few posts back. :)
Look at what I'm saying. I'm not complaining about the price. I'm complaining about how it is set up. Instead of JUST PAYING FOR A BASIC ACCOUNT and getting 1 free character, we have to go through 2 different payment types by buying 1 account and 1 character, which is over complicating things on an already messed up payment system.
Again, it would more simple to just set it up as "Basic account: 1 Account and 1 character= $price"
Instead, they have it as "Basic account:$price." Next option "1character:$price"
Just like at the game's release, they have too many screens/menus and too much complication for something so easy.
I'm curious if you choose the 180 days $4.99 (total $29.94), for the first month will they charge you:
1) $29.94 + $3.00 (Char first 30 days) and then charge $3.00 ever month (remainder of the 180 days) OR
2) $29.94 + $18.00 ($3 for the 180 day period)?
Just look at the non-discounted services. It's the same thing as the discounted+char prices.
Felis is 100% correct! This was in fact announced last year when the game first came out it would be $3.00 per character. Despite the fact that we have not payed a single penny at this time, the monthly and character rates were stated back in like Aug/Sept on 2010 so everyone already knew the price per month/per character/per extra retainer.
