I wouldn't mind hurting the feelings of an unfunny internet meme-spammer, and the world's gonna' end regardless. Trust me.
@Heart-of-Asia: I reccomend we both stop feeding the wannabe troll.

On the behalf of Balmung, I apologize that this is what people are seeing. We're better than that and can be better.
I love how you are making up stuff to make me seem like the bad guy here lol, I'm not calling people cry babies for trying to finish their quest while sitting there for an hour, i'm calling them *SALTY* for them saying they are reporting me and anyone else for griefing and harassment cause they can't get their bombs when there's 30 people in ONE spot.
I grouped up with a few people and helped them finish but no matter, someone is gonna be listed the enemy so that person can let out that steaming rage of not able to finish the quest, and why not the pink hair little lala named Pinkie! In the mean time, I'M going to have some fun in the shout and make people laugh, smile, joke around and throw out the DANK MEMES. WOOOOOOOOOOOO
I can't even bring myself to be disgusted at the trolls i'm more disgusted at the devs for allowing this to happen in the first place, Do not ever design something this way again without putting some thought into it.
Don't worry hun, I rather take the blame so our whole server doesn't tear itself apart blaming each other, who else to hate then that pink haired lala named pinkie. I'm a lala, I'm used to the hate anyway =3

Maybe they should make people who have the quest only able to kill them then party up to help complete faster.
Those who don't have the quest will have their skills canceled trying?
Isnt that the dragon spirits ls ppl? Omg is been so long
Not at all, it got really cringy when we started to talk about putting watermelons into lalafell's mouths and keeping the juice from getting in their eye and talking about us lala having a flat chest and how all the boys still love us cause we are like a walking fleshl-*cough* you get the idea
Do people not see the irony of this though I wonder, how the event itself is about them (the rangers) working together and their co-ordination yet here we are on here complaining about people not working well together to achieve the goal. SE have put you in the same position the group finds itself and needs help with aka working as a team better. :)
Well, in Zalera I managed to get every piece the event had to offer in under an hour. No trolling anywhere. Everyone having fun. Very smooth. All the cities are totally empty though. That's new.
The only complaint I have is the armor has short sleeves. C'mon! That's just tacky. Now I have to find a glove or gauntlet long enough to cover my bony arms!
How can you work together in this daily quest when the mobs are level 30(majority of people have all classes above this level) and the bombs die in two hits or one hit, a level 60 with gear cannot do this solo or in a party. Plus if you are level 30, the wind sprites aggro onto you when you are doing nothing.
All I did was take off my battle gear, wearing a swimsuit suited for the beach, and even at level 60 it took a few hits per bomb. I safely captured them without issue.
It's pretty easy to de-power yourself like that and I'm not sure why more people have not thought of this.
They do not aggro on to you unless you hit them, they are a passive type mob hence the blue icons next to their names. Perhaps you accidentally hit them with an AoE skill or you simply made the mistake of assuming they were attacking you when someone else next to you was their target because that person hit them. They are literally a passive type mob (there are non-passive ones elsewhere as part of other quests/leves etc) but the generic normal ones around costa del sol are passive type ones, they will not attack you unless you hit them.
It is a team activity doing that quest because everyone else is there doing the same thing and as a team you want to all work together to just weaken and not kill, so what I said before still stands in that much like how the rangers story is about them having problems working together as a team...SE has created a situation (probably unintentionally) where the players must do the same for the time being aka work together to ensure they are only weakened and not killed due to it's popularity and amount of people doing it. There is irony in that since as part of the story there is a problem with their team work and co-operation and between the players doing it right now there is too.
I check again and only few people on bomb place. Maybe it's kinda useless if they want fix it at monday.
To be honest, I can only imagine the people doing that one are doing it for the first time. When compared to the fate that seems to pop every 5 mins or so, gold on both is a quick 8 tickets.
On siren there is no one doing th bombs now. Everyone is just grinding the fates now.
The only problems I hear about this now are on Gilgamesh and Balmung.
Even Balmung got it together and started the line system. Shoutout to Near Mugen and Amaya Nightrain for coordinating this for several, several hours.

Meanwhile, at the FATEs.

Not to sidetrack the thread, but having made it past the 3rd quest, are there any tips for getting credit in the FATEs? The attack from the elbst is so slow that the bombs are dead before I get anything off most of the time.
For the first one, stand below the big bomb and spam the elbst's attack. A good thing about it is it doesn't need you to target anything. Also, you have a few seconds after the FATE starts but before the mobs spawn. Use these precious seconds to level sync down and start casting Saturate. The bombs should spawn right when the cast finishes. You'll either claim mobs or at least to dmg to alot of them, then just spam saturate.
For the 2nd part, move to where the water meets the sand. Same thing here: When the FATE starts, you'll have a few seconds to sync down and start casting Saturate. The bombs spawn spread out here. You'll have to memorize where the spawns are. Don't worry about all the bombs, just pick a spawn and the spawn next to it and just go back and forth between the two. By the time one bomb dies, the next one has spawned in the other area. Don't run from spawn to spawn, you don't need to.
You must have been grouped, which causes mobs, including passive ones, to link with other mobs around them. After realizing my lvl60 MNK was killing them in one auto-attack and being too lazy to take all of my gear off, I simply switched to one of my lvl30ish classes and nothing aggroed me besides the respawning bombs because I was solo.
Events such as these really show what people are like, don't they? Was quite entertaining to read the chat at times. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/i...s/rolleyes.png
You can't have developers perform functionality tests or things like this will happen.
Can we have a test server, SE?
Meanwhile in Ragnarok at the Bomb quest

Here in Malboro there was already a case of a little group that got together to purposely (They admitted it themselves pretty much) kill the bombs to prevent others from completing it. Was quite something.
What the devs made a mistake of was assuming that every player around is nice and will gladly work together. They forget that there are trolls and the not so nice players around, can't exactly change their behavior though.
Level 60 PLD can autoattack fine without taking off gear. Shield Oath -> right click to attack -> wait -> use item.
That's assuming no one else ruins it. Looking pretty easy this morning but I'm sure the trolls will be back at prime time.
