I quite agree with the perspective setting on this ; but hell, i'm still quite mad the tank armor of this lore set looks less like a tank armor than the DRG one... I mean come on, tanks are the "HP-Hitbags" and DRG have a full-plate armor set instead ?
REALLY ? Seriously guys, put a full lore DRG on one side, and a full lore PLD or so on the other, who looks like the tanking class now ??

That being said, it is true there is many others great armor set, glamour is definitly the solution there.
I'm just a bit mad the brand new tank armor is so unappealing to me, yeah. Meh. :<
If someone wants to use the argument that this is a fantasy game; so glamours can be whatever you want them to be; then I want more full glowing weapons in my fantasy game.
But am I going to get that? Probably not when half the people on the forums are against glowing weapons. I'll just simply be told to use the glamour of an existing glowing weapon with a prism; and not be allowed to hope for new weapons with the glowing design.
This is how you get treated when your tastes are different from the majority.
Ugh you can't expect an armor design to look good on a Roe and a Lala at the same time. What looks good on a female Miqo'te may look ridiculous on a female Roe as well... It isn't that easy to make a perfect set for every race. Or do you suggest we get each set fit to our race/sex?
Didn't XI have significantly fewer races though? Male and female humans, tarus, and elvaan; male galka, and female mythra, right?
In this game they have to consider male and female body types for roes, lala, hyur, elezen, miqo, and au ra.
Not saying it is impossible mind you, just a bigger project. Plus I think they have mentioned before that they actually tailor gear fits (and hairstyles) to each race individually, it's not automated. Either way though not every design is going to be flattering on every body type. Like the new Little Ladie's Day outfit... looks great on everyone else but looks like a mumu on female elezen lol.
I absolutley love the new ifrit armor set for tanks , I think it's sexy as hell. I'm leveling Paladin now and can't wait til I'm high enough level to get that armor. I don't see how any of the past armies for tanks have been flamboyant , I definitely like how their trying something new besides big heavy suits of armor and giving us cool coats and such. The tank jobs defenetly needed some diversity in their armor so I think their heading in a good direction.
I'm not a fan of the Ifrit Tank gear for that reason. I never glamoured before, but I did this round.
And the massive insecurity claim goes entirely undisputed while this pedantic goalpoast-shifting comes up. Interesting. Look, let me let you in on something. Your precious manliness isn't being "eroded" or going anywhere. At least not from any action on SE's part. Though if the EXISTENCE of non-stereotypical medieval knight armor endangers your fragile, fragile masculinity then there's probably some self-examination worth doing. And for the record, High Mythrite armor came into the game at the same time as the Lore armor for anyone that somehow still has a bee in their bonnet over this.
*Edit*
I had a really politely worded response that a few people seemed to like, so I was pleased that I took the high road until I scrolled your commenting history and realized that you are nothing but a vitriolic troll who should articulate your daddy issues with the goon who earned them instead of taking them out on strangers. Good day, sir, we won't speak again.
So revealing sets on females are fine and normal but don't you dare give girls or anyone else the same fan-service aesthetic by making an open-chested set on males? Honestly, I'm fine with you have your preferences and wanting to see more of them but it's this type of set that is in extremely low supply for males in the game and the type of sets they should be making more of for those who do like it.
Personally, I like how it appears on my more androgynous looking Paladin

Though I still favour the full-armoured, knightly look that he had before(and will eventually revert to at some point)

Similarly, my Warrior's main set, though heavily armoured, is more reminiscent of a gladiatorial look with some skin showing...

Though I am happy to use his secondary set in colder regions which is completed covering...

So, I actually like both sets for either of my tanks, arguably with a slight preference for completely concealing armour since I don't think the other option suits My Paladin very much - whom I try to keep tied to a Knightly aesthetic. The only reason I even changed his set for now was because we get so few armours that have a tasteful, aesthetic reveal for males that I got really excited and had to indulge in the opportunity.
The ifrit tank set is one of my favorite male armors in the game!
(For reasons that may or may not be part vengeful / part tastes oriented '3')
The thing I really appreciate about this game is that everyone has a nice variety of fashions!
I'd say alternate them. I like both full plate and flamboyant. I would like a solid mix. For more variety and options.
Edit: Come to think of it do we males get any cute mini skirts? Maybe sometimes daddy wants a short skirt, some high heels and a bit of lipstick to feel beautiful on those dark, lonely nights.
We need more flamboyant armours, keep them comming SE!
Didn't bother with current contents armor sets; looked too weird.. lol
Yeah, this.
Honestly, I thoroughly love the "flamboyant" theme of the game and in all honesty, it should be like that... after all, it IS a Final Fantasy game.
I completely like what the Devs do with the gear, weapons and costume themes in this game and it simply ties in cohesively with the main theme of the game: richly designed, elegant, sophisticated high fantasy.
meh , i usually dislike BRD sets for obv reasons ¬¬ , but the leviathan set has grown on me , i wanted to change , maybe in a week im bored again , but for now is new and fresh :P
i tho MCH would give aiming gear some cool looking sets but .....doesnt look like thats the case :(
;)This has to be the funniest post and replies to a post I have ever seen!! It has made me laugh out loud a couple times already, haha!!
I've seen a few Roe males with it. Somehow I want them clutching their pearls, resting on their bosoms and puffing smoke from a long cigarette holder....
