Fantasia or Not Help people choose!

Just wanted to thank everyone for the comments and advice. I think I've been convinced to stay Elezen despite some of the things that annoy me about their proportions (mainly the overly long necks).
It is nice to not see many characters that look similar to your own, and truth be told she's looked this way since 2.0 early access, and I've grown somewhat attached. :)

Blueeyes: I like your Au Ra a lot, but I think I like your Miqo'te just a little bit more, her violet eyes are very pretty.

silverhope: I really like your Hyur with the Au Ra's color scheme the best!
Leep: Both look great but I'm leaning towards your Elezen, he looks like he has an attitude and I like that. :3
Kukajoo: Your Elezen looks super unique, I'd say stay!
Hivernica: Both look great but I really like the eye+makeup colors on your Au Ra, she is gorgeous, definitely change! I'd pick the top hairstyle too, I like her eyebrows visible!
Yamimarik: Your Au Ra is cute but I prefer Hyur all in all for some reason.
Ashkendor: I like your Miqo'te's fierce look but the Au Ra looks super cool, change!
Mimilu: Stayyyy, the world needs more cute Roe ladies!
Lillia: I love your hair+eye color combo! It works really well on both but I'd say change.

I like the tomboy look since it's not something a lot of people seem to go for.

Most of my characters are plain/simple, so that the majority of my armor/gear/classes don't look unnatural one way or another but after going over some replies (thanks everyone!) I adjusted my miqo to try and give it some more personality

Your character was really pretty so I hope you don't mind but I started playing with creation to recreate a similar Au Ra version out of inspiration. I think you should def stay Elezen though! :)

looked over all the feedback everyone gave -btw thanks all- and i realized i was going about it all wrong, what i should have shown is my Au Ra with nothing but the features that cant be changed by the aesthetician, because that is more important than the things that can be changed by the aesthetician. so here she is

I also decided to go back and change some of features like the face paint and the color of the limbral rings. specially the limbral rings because they clashed with the colors of her heterochromatic eyes. so remembering back to color theory 101 i decided to go with a color that complimented blue and green, that naturally being red. On the face paint some were not liking the original face paint do to it covering the scales, so i changed to one that wouldnt cover scales, so with out further ado i present her new look

I keep waffling back and forth between the two. I like the towering tough-looking Roegadyn, but also the supernatural scaliness of the Au'Ra. If only the latter could reach the height of the former this decision would be easy.

Axel Karyu: Love what you did with the eyes for your current character, when I look at him I can see a badass in the making, a person whom looks like he knows his stuff. I’d stick with miqote

Colorful: You should stay miqo’te your current character is sooo freaken adorable I just want to pinch her cheeks ^^;

Hildagarde: Elezen for sure, I can’t quite put my finger on it though. I like how your current character is simple but elegant at the same time. I’ve seen a few Elezens here on Balmung and most seem to try to get there characters to pop more by using loud colors and lots of makeup. Your Elezen is so well done I don’t think any sort of makeup or pop is needed.

Toppehatte: I don’t see a lot of Miqo’te able to pull off that hairstyle. You seem to own it and own it you do ^^

Only really considering switching because Au Ra have hair I like, and eyebrows. That and the face I chose has a more gruff look without looking like a neanderthal.

I like both~! The braids make her look younger while the long hair seems to make her (still young) but a more mature take on it. So I guess whatever feel you'd like to go for~! Her eyes are lovely though, nice pick! :)

I like the braids more personally. I've only seen it used a handful of times so it makes her look more unique. Hope that helps!

the limbral rings are red not red orange. darkblue is still blue, its just closer towards the middle of the rbg scale. and the face paint may look purple but i think it has to do with lighting. its easier to do rgb because they dont clash

my opinion is my opinion no need to take it at all. this thread was meant to give feed back on to switch or not. I and many others have said not to. No one is telling you to take our feed back. This is a game and everyone has differnt views on beauty. Like others and I have said as long as you like her than do what you want to.

I wasn't going to post my Au Ra, but I've been so indecisive and flaky recently, I feel like it would be nice to air out what I've been waffling over.

It's not really your face paint... it's more like... your eyes have too many conflicting colors. I hope you don't feel insulted by it, I do think she looks very pretty but the colors are a bit all over the place instead of them complimenting one another to bring out all the aspects of your Au Ra. The reason that others got the replies of theirs being nice isn't because they used less or more colors as it was more that the colors blended very well together.

I saw you took your Au Ra to the show your Au Ra thread instead though so I hope you find the answers you were searching for over there. :(

I really love your highlander a lot, he looks all serious like that guy you just really wouldn't want to mess with! I like the Au Ra's hair too though and I actually don't think I've seen one 100% like him yet. xD

I totally know that feeling, I kept feeling it with my Au Ra till I got her the way I do now. I still worry a bit but I'm more chilled out about it and just waiting for heavensward to make smaller decisions like voices now. I personally think both are beautiful but I suggest messing with the Au Ra a bit more if you're still torn and undecided about if that's a look that is completely right for you. :)

I think your roe looks gorgeous and you shouldn't change her, I won't tell you what to do but I feel like your Roe brings out a lot more character. But you could always change, see how you like it then worse case scenario you change back when you can. I suggested this a bit earlier in the thread but I'll say it again, save your appearance current characters appearance before changing to Au Ra so if you do start to miss your roe then you can change back. :)

Your alternative cat looks very handsome. He reminds me a little bit of an anime character with that other hairstyle but it's not a bad thing. I think it's a very cute change. :)

I'm really digging the evil look one. Your second option though is a bit too darken by the shadows so I can't really make an 100% comment between those two but if I make a comment between the evil look and your first one then I'd say the evil one all the way.

Your Roe is super pretty but I love your Au Ra as well, she has the same feeling as your roe in a sense and shes also a beauty of her own caliber! It's clear that you tried to not stray too much from your roes design despite them not being completely the same but also tried to make her unique at the same time and it worked out very well! A change may be well advised. :)

As Azure dragon stated, You own that hairstyle on your miqo'te! Both have a beautiful look to them for sure but your Miqo'te brings out a beautiful rough tomboyish girl look, I stay stick with her!

I may actually be won over due to the fact that her face is similar to my Au Ra but I don't think you can go wrong with either of them quite frankly, Both has their own charm and neither look plain or zombied out. I'm actually interested in how your Au Ra would look in gear/glamours if you were to pick her so... I say go for the one you love the most (I'm probably not any help because I say that and you're in this thread for a obvious reason though.) :P

I actually had a hard time deciding which I liked on this one and how to comment on it... I do like your male miqo'te but I agree that your Au Ra has a really unique look to him which looks great... My own personal opinion is that your Miqo'te won this battle with his distinct classy appeal!

Zumi... I say just try whatever you want love, you should go and be what you feel like being when 3.0 hits then if you don't like it just change back. I personally like your Au Ra with light or more colored blonde hair (should probably go with the lighter hair in with that tone of skin though, hehe.) I'm just really use to seeing your kitty but that does not mean I think you should stick with Miqo'te if you really want to be Au Ra and that's the look you chose. So go for it! :)

I am just a tad torn between Roe and male Au Ra but I think Roe would be the better option if you're going for those job themes. I tried to picture your male Au Ra in those gears and maybe it's because they aren't out yet but it was pretty hard for me to picture it looking better than your roe in them, especially WAR as I picture Roe looking a tons better with that giant Axe in hand. ^^;

I still love both of them but I think that second picture of your Au Ra won me over just a bit, her lip color ended up getting darker which sort of made me sad but I'm assuming that was just messed up lighting being the villain in this as norm so I say Au Ra but I still advised doing what I said before. ;)

I actually prefer the top one with all the changeable features off. I think the reason is in my opinion the limbal rings hide your eye colours. You can barely tell that you have one blue one green with the red over the top, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! Maybe you prefer subtle heterochromia. I think I'd prefer your characters eyes if they were a shade or two lighter of blue and green. It might make it more noticeable that your eyes are different colours with the red rings if they were brighter. Though personally I don't like the limbals as much with mismatched eyes. Again, just my opinion, but I feel it'd make her eyes stand out more. ^^ So to clear that up if I worded it confusing, if you want the limbals, try brighter shades of blue and green. Or stay the same without limbals. I like the face paint of your 2nd new image more than the tiger stripes too.

Hope that helps you in any way, I get the feeling you are a bit upset by some of the responses so I apologise if I have done the same. If you love your first creation go with that! She's certainly unique. :3

First, sorry if I missed anyone's postings and replies! Second, here are the opinions (and keep in mind they are only opinions :P) I have on the characters presented. Lots of tough choices here.

Now, I will say that as a general rule, especially if you are unsure, I would make an alt to run around and fight with to see if you like the feel and voice of the character. All are very crucial to enjoying your toon. I would also say to try and preview gear on them if possible. Another piece of advice as an artist, if you are really stuck on something with character creation, leave it for a bit, even leave the room! Come back to it ten or so minutes after with a fresh mind and eye, it'll help. As an example, it took me five iterations of characters running around to get to my current main.

Now for the reviews:

Silverhope: Tough choice: I think your Hyur has a certain quality and appeal to her that I can’t put my finger on; your Au Ra though has a nice exotic look as well. With your tweaks on you Hyur: The sea green eyes are really nice with dark hair.

Leep: Love your Elezen, but I think you should go Au Ra.

Kukajoo: So many variations, but I empathize with having so many choices on the go. Your Elezen is very unique, but so are your Au Ra. Of the ones you posted, I still like the one with the lime highlights and face 3.

Hivernica: Your second Au Ra is amazing.

Yamimarik: Both are quite nice, but I think I like your Hyur more.

Ashkendor: Change to the Au Ra, your use of face 2 is one of my favourites.

Mimilu: I really like your Roegadyn, but au ra 1 and 2 are also quite nice and stands out.

Lillia: Au Ra, it’s simple, but lovely.

Elim: I would go with Au Ra, second hairstyle, but hair is changeable. :P

EA9Sol: Tough call, though I really like your Miqo’te.

Zenaku: Au Ra!

Indiction: Flip a coin, both looks are great!

HarukoDK: Stay Roe, he looks fantastic.

Zumi: I think I like your miqo’te more.

Shyluv: As you are considering switching back and forth and debating Wildwood or Duskwight, I would go Duskwight.

NintenPyjak64: I really like your Au Ra. With the gear, I would probably advise trying linked items with an alt, given their unique hourglass body shape. It can be troublesome when your equipment ends up looking less than stellar on a character.

Mahri: I think I like your Highlander more, very heroic looking.

Onikimaru: Miqo’te or male Au Ra is nice.

Keydah: Another tough choice! I would flip a coin, as both are very nice.

AzureZenorag13: I like your Miqo’te, but I think if you go Au Ra, I like the one with yellow limbal rings better.

Skeith-Adeline: Love your Highlander, I would stay.

Cyrus-Wallace: I always really liked your Highlander.

Raminax: I like your Raen. If you use a dark green for limbals, you can actually give the dark green eyes more dimension, but you do have to be careful with the tone on it.

Glaereth: Difficult decision here. I’m edging on the Miqo’te.

Mirakumi: I like your second Au Ra.

KaiKatzchen: I think I like your Miqo’te more.

Alleyia: Green eyed Au Ra! Or Au Ra 3. >.>

NorthernLapMSP: Au Ra 2 or 5.

Iromi: Au Ra!

Bizzarejelly5: I love your Miqo’te.

Noshpan: Both Au Ra are nice, though I do have you say I really like your Hyur.

Tachyon: Both are very nice (including the edits to your Miqo’te), leaning on the Au Ra.

DoctorSecksy: If you go an Au Ra, I would say your male Au Ra.

Priya: Both are nice, though I am leaning towards the Au Ra.

Also thanks for the compliments on my moonie! I think I will switch to Au Ra, but my mooncat will certainly be coming back as well, with alternating fantasias between the two (R.I.P. money). :D Miqo'te mannerisms are too cute to resist, and I am quite attached to the manqo'te.

im still to indecisive i have way too many au ra on my hands and i need to hunker down and pick one already

I think the red haired one is the best. The darker, but interesting, red makes your eyes pop more. Those horns are my fave for males, too. The last picture is good too. I'd say it's my second favorite out of the bunch, but the green in the hair takes away from the eyes, imo.

Silverhope: Your Au'ra is pretty cute, but I love the colour scheme of your Highlander (and Highlander are awesome!). Stay Highlander (for now!)

Leep: I like how your Au'ra looks similar to your Elezen, so though choice. But I think I like your Elezen a tiny bit more.

Kukajoo: So many choices!! But i quite like your Elezen.

Hivernica: Never change (even though your Au're is very, very pretty)! But your Elezen looks awesome!

AzureZenorag13: As others have already said, your Au'ra has way, way to many colours that all clash together. The complimantary contrast doesn't work, because only one of the eyes are actually green/red. That kind of contrast can work of course, but only if there aren't that many colours used. I wouldn't use the limbal rings, or chose a colour that compliments your eyes (i.e. a light violett). Other than that, I still like your Miqo'te more! ^_^ She looks really unique and pretty!

Skeith-Adeline: Oh dear, so many pretty Au'ra and a really handsome Highlander! For now I'd say you should stay Highlander. But.. oh dear.. really not an easy desicion... ;o;
