Not sure if your definition of "easy" means doing all those atma farming/animus book/alex maps/nexus light farming were mere small works.
The mined data kinda suggest it though, hence me asking this question.
He meant having other Nexus weapons, while having your already finished Zodiac one. And to your question on previous post, if you noticed when you grabbed the quests, they had repeatable quest icons, hints that you have to do them all over again if you wanna enhance other Nexus weapons into Zodiac. What you need to enhance from Nexus are the items given by those quests (Flawless Alexandrite, Zodium, Zodiac Scroll and Book of Skylight) and present them to the enhancer npc and pick whatever weapon you want.
Imo the best way is crafting Militia Choker. Uses only a few mats, easy crafted.
You get so much loots and soldiery tomes by running the dungeons, Seals and Tomes are therefore absolutely no problem.
Tomes are the problem for me right now.
It's something like 20-25 mins for 50.
6400sols is 43 hours of dungeon running @ 20mins (excluding first-time bonus/roulette bonus).
Didn't feel like digging through this whole thread to find the post stating "4-5 runs to get a drop" but thought I would post my findings thus far.
WP 1/1 (got lucky)
AV 1/1 (again thank you RNGesus)
HM 0/12 (decided to focus on blood, will go back once I finish that quest line)
Copper 1/23
Hull 1/26
Qarn (HM) 1/1.
So if you don't mind me saying these are exactly like pre 2.4 atma drop rates, occasional lucky flashes, but otherwise a lot of grinding. All the nexus clad people being in the dungeons does make it more fun however and the runs fly most of the time, still a fairly major time sink, as other than daily roulettes for soldiery this is all I have done for the past two days.
I have now set up a shrine to RNGesus in my living room using a dashboard Jesus someone gave me as a gag gift as the icon of veneration. Last two runs which netted me Kraken Blood and Viceregent Blood he was overloking so maybe my luck is about to change. All praise to RNGesus!!!
Has it been confirmed yet that you need the HQ crafted items or can you use the NQ items?
You need HQ
Soldiery Tomes come faster right now than Myth did when Animus first came out. Furthermore, we need fewer tomes than Animus needed. This may be a time consuming portion of the quest, but an unlucky enough person will easily get most, if not all of the necessary tomes by just running dungeons.
Are you sure about this? cause I did animus back when it was fresh. Myths came easy since all we have to do is spamming bray SR with only few hours. Animus books averagely took a day each for me, so that's 9 days.
And it's gotten so easy when hunts introduced, myths capped so fast with it that I can also leisurely buy crafting mats with it.
Now? It's been several days since 2.45 and I'm still around 2.1k away to buy 2 of those relic item quest. And I've run like more than 30 dungeons of those required by relics and daily roulettes too.
So... please enlight me as how you can gain soldiery so fast. If you're talking about coils then I'm out of luck on that part.
Using Animus books as reference with old myth (pre-boost) and soldiery now, it took an average of 3 hours for 1 book with myths, 3 hours and 20 mins with soldiery. That, if you farm nonstop for a book, run after run.
* 50 myth per Brayflox HM run (til second boss) which had an average of 6 mins per run for a total of 1500 myth per book = 1500 / 50 = 30 runs for 1 book ~~ 30 * 6 = 180 mins = 3 hours per book. 27 hours total for 9 books.
* 50 soldiery per full dungeon run (three new ones) which have an average of 20 mins per run for a total of 500 soldiery per book = 500 / 50 = 10 runs for 1 book ~~ 10 * 20 = 200 mins = 3 hours and 20 mins per book. 30 hours total for 9 books.
* Myth from trial roulette then: 40 daily for a total of 1500 per book = 2,6% of a book worth of myths daily.
* Soldiery from trial roulette now: 40 soldiery for a total of 500 per book = 8% of a book worth of soldieries daily.
Now we can't compare current soldiery gain with last stage of boosted myth pre-2.4 because they work like echo. They'll eventually buff soldiery to scale it to the way myth was boosted as it lost value with new item level equipment being released (Ramuh and Syrcus Tower). We could assume that soldiery rewards from dungeons and roulettes will be boosted in 2.5.
Also we can't compare current 1600 soldiery item needed for the quests with myth, because we don't know how many myths it would have cost.
Edit: corrected the values with books being 500 soldiery, not 400.
Poor Tomberry King just dies so so fast with no synced gear....feals like a normal mob
Well... you've just proven that the new soldiery gain are significantly slower than what myth does back in the day, without the "echo buff" version like the hunts. And the early part of current relic quest needing 3200 soldiery, that's almost 7 books of animus. Lucky if some already has more than 1600 soldiery when this quest made available. Unfortunately, I'm not since I'm still spending them to gear up other optional jobs that I need.
With the total of 6400 soldiery we would need to spend, which is equivalent of 13 animus book, it does made clear how slow current tome gains are. ^^;
It only seems slower if you're doing it very, very wrong.
Doing all roulettes in a day gives 230 Soldiery, 46% of a book. This doesn't include physical dungeon rewards. This is far higher percentage of a book than the Myth based roulettes gave back in the day.
A significant number of instances give away 100 Soldiery for having at least one person new inside. The first four turns of the First Coil of Bahamut are faceroll easy now. While Turn 5 is still a roadblock, anybody can pop in and do the first four. Carry someone through them and you have 440 Soldiery for 15-30 minutes of work. There's a high chance that any run through the Main Scenario roulette will have someone new: that's an additional 100 Soldiery.
People got their 6400 Soldiery in two days by using the fastest available methods while satisfying all of the other requirements of the quest. That can't be matched by the Myth gain during the advent of Animus.
That might be the case in your server. Mind you that I'm in one of most packed server, and a legacy one to boot, which means chances of having someone new for that new bonus are quite slim. I bet there's alot of those you can pick from non legacy like yours.
And 6400 soldiery in 2 days? don't think a normal person can do that, normal as in having their RL stuff over this. If I don't sleep and ignore RL, then yes, I probably could do that. :p
Give something that's viable for normal human being could do in a day. There's already ppl that can do nexus in 2 days, though I bet they ignore RL stuff. :p
As in case of animus book alone, you should make comparison on bray HM only, both myths and soldiiery version. And yes, I never forgot doing my daily roulettes.
And I think you need re-define "very wrong" of yours. My guesses are that you're still too young to understand that.
I'm 1/4 on Darkhold, 1/1 on Bray HM, and 0/1 on Halatali HM. Just barely realized that you can unlock all the quests at once (thought you had to do them in order...) So that's good to know. Also, you can't unlock A Treasured Mother if you have Morbid Motivation active even if you've previously completed the quest. Just thought I'd share.
To Bobbin, i am in the same server, yet i finished my relic yesterday. Just go do 15-20 minute crystal tower. 100 soldiery each. I farmed up all 4k+ from it from friday evening to Saturday whole day farm. And about comment on those that no life and finish fast. for nexus or this. For your info some of us do have work and we come home playing 3 to 4 hours on weekday and more on weekend. And we finish both nexus and now this in the week.
Instead of whining about it, just go farm and do it, you will finish. Most of my friends that i know has already 10+ of dungeon drop item and left few sol to go. I farmed 3 hours a day on weekdays, with 0 drop on tuesday but rest of days gave me luck. Got all 16 on friday, and farm whole day CT on saturday for remaining 3200 points needed. here vid link of completion and with party chat all jp cause just came out CT

P/S: skip it if don't wish see the last part of the quest.
errr... yeah. By the time you posted this, I already know about the CT farm days ago, and already done lots of it. Still doesn't change the fact that soldiery gain are slower compared to myth days, and I'm talking about the non-hunt days.
And funny you mention about whining, didn't remember part of me saying about it. :p
And yeah, you got RNG sided on you obviously. Big deal! It's still screw me over and over, but I'm still working on it. Gratz on completing it, though you might want to stop rubbing it to someone's face cause you never now when RNG gonna suck you so bad. Also, not everyone got same time & resource luxury as you do. :p
Best farm is grabbing a new person and run them through dungeons for bonus sol that's what i do.
No, there is no reason to only compare the Soldiery gain of certain things because of a comparison to Bray HM. Bray HM is the mentioned task for Myth because, at the time Animus was first released, it was the absolute and undisputed fastest way to obtain Myth. Therefore, the equivalent comparatory requirement is to find the same task for Soldiery and compare it to that. The fact of the matter is that if you want Soldiery, mindlessly grinding dungeons is probably the slowest way to do it. The fastest way is to fish for new person bonuses on Trials and Coil. While this has an element of variation, it is still very likely to be faster than Bray's previous Myth gain on an okay day and absolutely blows it away on a good one. The moderately fast way is to do roulettes every day and reap the occasional new person bonus you might get from that. Doing CT is also possible, but really only worth it if word spreads on its possible efficiency enough to reduce queue times significantly.
So, you're on a Legacy server. It has a high population, and is allegedly full of people who started at Level 50. Please do enlighten me as to how the Legacy moniker magically makes everyone skilled enough to have cleared all of first and second Coil, all EX Primals, etc.
The "2 days" argument, while absolutely true, was not a treatise regarding what is possible if you ignore real life responsibilities. People finished this relic step in 2 days. As far as I'm away, nobody finished Animus in 2 days. In both steps, the Tomes are the primary time-consuming bottleneck. In this case, the dungeons could be, but RNGesus would really have to be against you for it to take longer to get your dungeon drops than to get the full Soldiery amount. Evidence is pointing to the conclusion that it is easier and faster to get the Soldiery amount in this step than it was to get the necessary Myth for the first Animus weapons.
I just would like to point out Myth also use to be about the same rate. When it first came out it was just about the same as soldiery is now. So in another patch or two, you can be sure the rate will go up. It's just how they do things in this game it seems. Myth started out at about the same, then when they patched it went from like 50 to 200 with bonus's or something. They did the same to philosophy tomes, it was like 100 then it jumped to 300 for doing main story roulette/CT iirc.Quote:

The Soldery farm I didn't find bad. Had exactly 1600 before patch. Doing all the KI grinding I ended up farming just shy of 2000 soldery then the rest ~3k soldery was spammed in a few hrs with first time bonus
I don't know if anyone posted yet, here's how the SCH one looks dyed in Dalamud Red (for those who wanna match it with High Allagan glamour :P ):
