why do people get so angry with folks "necroing" a thread with a relevant response? the rules literally say to use the search function to find like topics and to direct your comment there instead of making a new thread. people get angry if necro'd, and people get angry if new thread. can't win lol

Seems most people consider "necroing" as bad while it's actually the correct behavior and making a new thread with the exact same topic is bad. Don't know where that mentality comes from.

Because a lot of necro threads around here are trolls dragging up old troll threads for a cheap laugh. Actual relevant threads are by far the exception, not the rule.

Its from the old wild west days of the internet, and yeah I don't get it either. There a few forums out there that actually operate with old topics, and don't ever keep it closed because sometimes the topic might end up being relevant again.

Yeah, I don't think this was a troll necro at all. I just think that people have been conditioned to expect every necro to be a trolling attempt, because that's what they usually are. It is kinda funny in a depressing sort of way seeing some of the reactions to this one.

A seven year necro deserves a few bumps, it's some full on nagash quality posting.

It's still pretty relevant though, seriously speaking. Clothing varies depending on gender in some weird ways, even when there's no real reason that it should.
