Ask Questions for the Lore Panel at the Las Vegas Fan Festival!

Since Aetheryte makes instant teleportation common place, it makes having instant boat and airship travel rather redundant. Could the boat and airships be remade into something a bit more like FFXI's boats and airships? Timed instances while the vessel travels between points on the map with random encounters, and maybe unique fishing options for deep sea and sky.

Northern Thanalan is rather unique in that two of the Elite Marks that live there (Flame Sergeant Dalvag and Dalvag's Final Flame) share a common origin and story. Will we ever explore or see anything else about Dalvag?

The Dravanian Horde has not been expanded on much, and the text in the game seems to be inconsistent about whether every member of the Horde is an actual dragon. So, is the Dravanian Horde exclusively dragons or are there subspecies/separate species that are also part of it and if so how do they relate to dragons?

Expanding on that last question, will we ever learn about the dragons relationship with their primal, Bahamut?

Is there any plan on adding a private chest for private housing,to store items in just like the chest free company has?

Can we have more dungeons explaining the history behind the First to Sixth eras? We understand so little of the history and it would be amazing to combine histories and legends of previous games into these eras.

What is Diabolos, if not a primal, in this game. And have we seen the last of him? I think everyone was excited to see him in the Lost City, but would like to think that he has a more powerful form yet.

Are the Main Scenario quests all in the Seventh Umbral Era? Similarly, are the Chronicles of a New Era quests part of the Seventh Astral Era? Would the year count reset between the two of them so we turn back to 0 or 1 year?

Can members of two different races have children together?

In one of his lore posts (source), Fernehalwes stated that the races can indeed crossbreed. But why are cross-racial romances and children so rare (besides culture) and just how rare are they? It seems they'd be more common at least between elezen and hyur since not only have they lived together in Gridania for so long, but the twin serpents on the Grand Company banner are said to symbolise their two races working together.

Will Final Fantasy Dissidia ever cross into Final Fantasy XIV?

Why the beast tribes considered such? For example, Mi'qote have animalistic features and can be tribal, but are not considered a "beast tribe". Is it purely cultural or religious?

I recently finished putting together my cosplay for FanFest as an interesting Lore Idea and got me thinking.

Who are the other Legatus and how is the War of Succession going? Are each of the Legatus similar to the games their number represent?

What is it exactly that makes a Primal an Elder Primal?

Is it because it's not directly linked to an element?

Is it because of sheer size? (I know, of course, that size is relative — to a lalafell, Odin may as well be a giant.)

Or is it an elder because it was summoned aeons ago by tribes now long extinct, and still somehow manages to retain a sense of self despite a lack of prayers to shape and sustain its existence?

I know with the Release of 2.4, we will see the Final Coil of Bahamut.

My question to you. Did you treat the Finale of the Coil to a BANG of an ending? I ask this because with the conclusion of The Binding Coil of Bahamut, the entire story that stretches from 1.0 is coming to a close. We will see what happened, why, and how it will end.

Did you treat this as a large project and is the lore of Bahamut strong? Will we see this close to an epic tale of our past with the previous game come to a close with a rich story and that fealing of accomplishment to leave behind 1.0 for good and move forward into the new Eaorzea or is it just another end of the raid cut scene?

Perhaps more a question for the character developement team but- is our evolution complete or in the future can we expect to see things like Roes with tails?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, and I know that Odin sort of has his own thing going on but will anything more ever be revealed about him and Urth? will his quest ever be concluded?

Will we see more stories develop from the classes (not jobs) or are those stories complete with no continuation on their characters. Or will we see more lore behind them through the moogle mail quests.

Can you tell us about the history of Ishgard's templar knights? What code do they live by? Will they play a larger role in the future? Are elezen and hyur only allowed in their order?

Can someone please tell me what this discipline is and what it was doing only being found in Falcon's Nest from the original Coerthas zone from 1.0? Is this supposed to be the icon for a shepherd's guild of some sort in the world's lore? I've been seeking the answer to this mystery since 2010. I need some closure.

Will FFXIV ever have a type of book or encyclopedia sold that contains the history and lore of the world?

It has been speculated that the symbols associated with the 12 Eorzean Gods might have greater significance than just representing the Gods. We of the Lore Forum assume these symbols date back to Allagan Times since they appear on Allagan Runestones. Is it possible that the lore of the Eorzean Gods has been corrupted through the transmission of recorded history? Is it possible that these symbols have a connection to the ancient Allagan art of Summoning or the modern art of Arcanima?

Are the two books given by Louisoix, one to Alphinaud and another to Alisae. Are these "the key that only you and I hold" which is mentioned by Alphinaud? The Anniversary Story about the twins indicates that the books are intended to be used together and most useful when the twins cooperate. Might the twins falling out have dire consequences for the realm as a result? Are these books of the same make as Louisoix's staff and the Limsa 1.0 Horn which the Ascian, Travanchet, was so interested in?

There are several hanging questions from 1.0 that we are very interested in seeing resolutions to. Foremost are: What happened to the NPC from Gridania who now has a spire named after him in ARR, but we have never heard from since 1.0. Who killed the NPC in Ul'dah who was researching necromancy and died under mysterious circumstances to a shrouded man wielding a very unique dagger. What happened to the Ascian NPC in Limsa, if he was dark crystaled, and if he is better known to us by another name in ARR (Possibly he was Lahabrea?).

Will Nanamo Ul Namo have a bigger role in the future?

Also, what are the chances that the beastmen will try to launch an invasion in one of the city states, trying to temper as many people as possible?

I have seen that some of these have been brought up by others, but at the time I posted this, I don't have time to read through all 24 pages of threads:

1. Will the Conjurer and/or White mage ever be able to commune with the Elementals? We have seen them in game, and there is a lot talk about doing that.

2. Add to above: Will the conjurer/white mage eventually have a pet elemental. Something like an egi like the summoners have for the primals?

3. Are there any plans to expand upon the decaying state of Forgotten Springs and allow it to be “reborn” or is equal to Noel’s tribe from FFXII-2 and going to die off?

4. Beast Tribes and the related quests are great.

5. Will we ever see the underwater home of the Shanginn?

6. Will the player ever be able to “study” the Allgan tomes for ourselves?

Will there be any changes to old jobs to help them when new jobs are added in or will everything stay the same? example with ninja coming out will we see new cross skills or will it build off of just new jobs?

Forgot to ask this last time... but can you give more info on Livia Sas Junius and Rihtahtyn sas Arvina? There was a tiny tidbit of lore, but it would be great to know more information, especially with Livia who seemed to reference some darker past as well as her rumored love for Gaius.

We've been able to experience and even confront denizens from the ancient civilizations of Allag and Amdapor in the game thus far. Might we be seeing similar content with some of Eorzea's other ancient civilizations as well, such as Belah'dia, Gelmorra, Sil'dih, and/or Nym, in the future?
