It's only about 15% chance to get a mastercraft from the spectacles. I usually desynth in batches of 14-15 glasses and will typically end up with 1-2 mastercraft and FC3s.

Bridesmaid's and Best Man's sets are apparently desynthesizable, are two-star crafts and can be bought from Rianne at the Steps of the Nald. Anyone given taking these apart a go?
I tried the female legs ones. They are i70 (I'm 80.x weaver desynth and they had 70% sucess), the 5 I desynthed all gave twinthreads. Will test more when back from work.
Great way to level weaver desynth now as 12k per attempt is cheap for this level. I was getting .20ish per success.
Desynthed some Allagan gear, here's what I have so far.

The new wedding gear = cheap FCIIIs
Supras for EVERYONE!
Oh! Nice. Has anyone desynthed the second tier artisan tokens yet? They're desynthable, and I'm hoping they can give MCDs. I didn't get around to making any for desynth before I had to run to work.
Wait has anyone got a FC3 from this stuff. I want to confirm b4 i reckless my bsm and GSM desynth lvls.
Successfully desynthed about 11 bridesmaid sandals and best man's gaiters and no FC3 yet but that's hardly a representative sample.
Eight pieces of hero's jewelry yielded only rose gold ingots and battlecraft 3.
WVR:
Took apart 150~ or so Best Man's Slacks and Jackets. I ended up with 30+ Fieldcraft III's, although most of it was at the beginning. A lot of luck there. Full list of items I got from each:
Best Man's Jacket:
1x Fieldcraft III
1x Undyed Woolen Cloth (+HQ)
1x Twinthread (+HQ)
1-2x Vanya Silk (+HQ)
Best Man's Slacks:
1x Fieldcraft III
1-2x Undyed Woolen Cloth (+HQ)
1x Twinthread (+HQ)
1x Vanya Silk (+HQ)
Basically if you get the jacket, which is the most expensive, you get a shot at 2x Vanya Silk at a time instead of just one. I have a little stockpile of around 20 Vanya Silk + 8 HQ Vanya Silk. Too bad prices are crashing so fast! The profit was nice while it lasted.
Hope that helps! Happy desynthing! WVRs and LTWs finally have a grander purpose in life!
^You can check the actual recipes to craft these items and see what they can give you. The bridesmaid pants can only give you vanya silk, field 3s, twin or clear demi, where the rest can all give you undyed wool as well. I am unsure about the shoes as I don't have them in my recipes to check. The rate of getting field 3s from these is not that good and much lower then I get from spectacles, but certainly much much faster with the bonus of randomly getting vanya silk as one of the alternatives.
I got BSM GSM and ALC in the 75-80 zone. Debating switching up one for WVR or LTW
Hello everyone! Thanks for the helpful info :)
I have one question... Is there a good (and preferably less expensive) way to level WVR desynth skill? Mine's currently at 57, and I fear the 75+ road (ugh moogle interior wall+cashmere stuff). Any suggestion on how to lvl my WVR desynth? Thanks very much.
This is all I've done so far, but are fcI's all you've gotten from them?

Not sure why I got clusters instead of shards, but I'll take them!
I tried desynth about 5-6 supra NQ items and got a mix of FC1 and FC2.
I find weird that they made those items "desynthesable" if not for the purpose to give all crafting class a chance for Mastercraft Demi. I want to believe they can yield them but don't want to waste tons of FC3 trying to figure it out.
I hope someone will confirm at some point. In anycase, the drop rate seems bad if they actually do yield mastercrafts.
I just leveled LTW from 55 to 80 skill off of just the Bridesmaid's Sandals. It cost me over a million, but gave me ~15 FC3s and ~20 hard hippogryph leather (some NQ, 4 HQ). That was pretty nice. My starting success chance was only 22.5%, but now I'm up to 70%. I bought at least two hundred of those things. Too bad I'm only getting 0.1 skill from each now - it was so nice to get .7 each at first. 0.1 is still good though. I wonder if I can get up to 90 before it becomes totally nonviable to level this way.
Sadly, I screwed up my desynth rotation and my GSM went from 100 to 99.96. Oh well! Time to desynth some Hero's jewelry! :)
Depends very heavily on how much you dread the wrath of RNGesus. At first, when I had a ~1/4 chance of success, I succeeded maybe once out of every ten tries. When my chance went up, things were better, but I threw away several hundred thousand gil just to get started. If you can, I'd use Legionary Visors to get to at least ~60 first. If they're 500 or less on the MB, buy them, otherwise, farm them while spiritbonding in any of the Castrums. My favorite farming spot for that is the one NE of Wineport.
At 60 LTW skill, you should have a 30% chance to desynth the sandals. That's not bad, imo. Theoretically, you'll succeed about 1 of 3 tries, and gain about 2/3rds of a level from a success. So, the theoretical cost per level becomes about 6,000 * 3 *3/2 = 27,000. Getting from skill 60 to skill 70 should cost you about 350,000, which isn't so bad. By then though, you're only getting 1/3rd of a level per success, but your success rate is 1 in 2. So, cost per level is about 6,000 * 2 * 3/1 = 36,000. That's about 200,000 to get to skill 75. To get from 75 to 80, you're looking at about 1/5-1/10 skill per success, so that'll cost you about 6,000 * 2 * ~5-10 = 90,000 per level, or 450,000 to get to skill 80. Those are all rough estimates, obviously, but that puts the cost at about 1,000,000, which feels about right.
Oh, and my numbers in the above post are a bit off - I started at 55 (22.5% starting chance), not 50 (15% starting chance).
I just did the same thing as Neri yesterday myself. Works wonders! Went from 0-87 LTW desynth in just under 2 hours. I used whatever Legionary Visors I had on hand and could buy cheap on the MB, then used about 50 more Militia Duckbills to get me from 50 to 70. Spent another 800,000 gil on the Bridesmaid's Sandals but it got me to 87, 15 FCIII's, and a whole bunch of Hard Hippo Leathers and Spruce Lumber. If all that sells, I will make back over half what I spent.
Anyone try desynth the new OT artisan weapons? Wondering if you can get maybe 6 mastercrafts from it.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but if you're doing mass desynths, Bacon Broth is a new 4 star food that increases your desynth success rate.
Is there an easier desynth item than the cashmere stuff for WVR from 80+?
I've actually gone from Assassin Betta straight to Ninja Betta. If what the fishing website reports is correct, there's a specific timeframe and that might be why you might be mooching multiple Assassin Bettas from each other.
Any reason to synergize any together that we know of?
Currently the lowest used three?
I've got all my crafts maxed and looking to go ahead and max 3 desynths, guessing everyone and their mom's have done gsm and bsm? Looking to go into the niche markets; even if they are awful now(in the chance they may become better).
My understanding is that other than CUL the only things you get back from desynth is the base mats of the item and demimateria. So there is no real niche markets outside of primal demimateria which I believe is only used for making the i95 crafted primal weapons.
So its more whatever is cheaper (WVR,LTW for FC3s currently, and GSM for mastercraft)
Valuable items unique to desynthing: Fieldcraft Demimateria III (FC3), Battlecraft Demimateria III (BC3), Mastercraft Demimateria (MCD), Demimog Demimateria, Demimateria of the Vortex, Demimateria of the Inferno, Demimateria of Crags, Rare Swimwear {Sea Breeze top/bottom, South Seas top, Blue/Red Maro, Ti Leaf Lei, Coronal Summer Halter, Red Pareo}, Waterproof Cotton [from certain fish and Rare Swimwear], rare hats {Gold/Oschon Roselle Capeline}, Assassin Fry minion
Unique capabilities of various desynth classes:
- LTW: Cheapest FC3s (Bridesmaid's Sandals, 6k each from vendor), Allagan Leather (from T1-T5 Allagan equipment, but can also be obtained by just doing T1-T5, so it's hardly unique), cheap Hard Hippogryph Leather (also from the sandals), relatively easy BC3s (from i70+ dungeon loot)
- WVR: Second cheapest FC3s (Bridesmaid's pants, 12k each from vendor), Allagan Silk (from T1-T5 Allagan equipment, but can also be obtained by just doing T1-T5, so it's hardly unique), cheap Vanya Silk (also from the pants), relatively easy BC3s (from i70+ dungeon loot)
- ARM: Allagan Wootz Ore (from T1-T5 Allagan equipment, but can also be obtained by just doing T1-T5, so it's hardly unique), second cheapest MCDs (from Artisan's Frypans), relatively easy BC3s (from i70+ dungeon loot); I believe T1-T5 and/or Myth equipment for ARM desynth can also desynth to Platinum Ingots and/or Nuggets, but I could be wrong
- CRP: Ifrit, Garuda, Mog demimateria from Bard equips
- BSM: Ifrit, Garuda, Mog demimateria from many classes
- GSM: Ifrit, Garuda demimateria from a few classes, cheapest MCDs (from Artisan's Spectacles), cheap-ish FC3s (from the i70 Garlean material glasses), cheap Rose Gold Ingots (from dungeon drops), relatively easy BC3s (from i70+ dungeon loot)
- ALC: Titan demimateria from all classes (no one else can get this), Ifrit, Garuda, Mog demimateria from many classes
- CUL: Rare swimwear, hats, Waterproof Cotton, and the Assassin Fry minion from Big Fish; cannot get demimateria at all, unless someone discovers that Rich Tomato Relish can desynth into MCDs, but that's unlikely at this point
(EDIT: To add to my point, the only truly unique items from specific desynth classes are the Titan demimateria (ALC only) and the rare swimwear/hats (CUL only). Everything else can be obtained from multiple desynth classes. LTW, WVR, and ARM are the only classes that can desynth Allagan materials, but those are also dungeon drops, so they're not unique. I added a list of items unique to desynthing above.)
I'm LTW for FC3s, Allagan Leather, BC3s, and Hard Hippo Leather; GSM for MCDs, BC3s, FC3s, and Rose Gold Ingots; I'm BSM for non-Titan primal demis. My wife is WVR for Vanya Silk, Allagan Silk, FC3s, and BC3s; CUL for swimwear. We share stuff. I fish, she desynths them. We both get FC3s, I make her stuff with them. She will be supplying me with Allagan Silk so I can craft 4* stuff for guildies when I get there. Theoretically, I'd farm MCDs for her, but I've broken 35+ Artisan Spectacles and I've only gotten a single MCD. It's very irritating.
In retrospect, I only really regret BSM, because I don't really farm primals as much as I should. I have no idea what I'd replace BSM with, but GSM and LTW were solid choice so far. If you do a lot of First Coil farming, you might want to take up whatever can desynth the Allagan equipment for your current main class.
And for whomever asked about WVR post 87: you CAN make cashmere hats of casting like I said in the OP, but I'd actually just farm T1-T5 as a class that can get a fair amount of WVR items from it, or Expert Roulette as any class for the Antique items, which you can trade in for WVR-desynthable stuff.
Here's an interesting question: Can you get HQ sealant that way? And, is it worth it?
Hmm. Bacon Broth appears to only raise desynth chance by 1% for NQ, 2% for HQ, and it's a four star craft that requires an item that costs 30 soldiery, and an item that costs 8 oaknots. Also, the starting quality is likely low because the two highest ilvl items (those two) are NQ only. However, you do get 3 broth per synth. An interesting idea, but too expensive to really use regularly, just like the ALC desynth reset books. Those books also cost 8 oaknots and either 30 sold or 270 sold (hard to tell - xivdb has issues with quantities), though they don't have to be HQed.
That's not %, that's SE's arbitrary stat that tells us pretty much nothing, just like reduced durability loss. As far as I can tell, NQ is +2.5% so HQ is probably +5%.
The +1 or +2 means literally after eating that food you level up 1 or 2 desynthesis levels while the buff is on.
It's not +1 level, it's +2.5% success rate. If it was +1 level, it would be giving +1.5% success rate at higher levels.
