man .18 is shaping up to make a really good showing.


I hope the smexy roegadyn female admiral will make at least a cameo in the limsa's company early stuff.

Going to check out all three before i make a final decision on which to throw in with.

I kinda have the feeling that since I love Archer I have to join Gridania to get the Archer-like rewards. They already implemented the guild mark system coming only from the region where the guild is located, so this may likely follow suite.

im with you, both my mains are CNJ and ARC, both of which is in grid, so i'll be joining them.

or maybe its because in ffxi, i started out in windurst, the place where no one went to, and go my ranks there. grid is the same way, no one wants to go there =\

I'm so Windurst, I'll stay with Gridania no matter how bad it sucks.

My loyalty is with my admiral. Limsa Grand company all the way. Hope we can change Companies at some point when ever we get the rewards we want or something of the sort.

I am impressed I took lightly of Yoshida-san's words indicating the patch was going to be huge xD with all the stuff being changed plus the stuff added... it seems to be huge and full of awesome things. I remember like three weeks ago people saying patch 1.18 is not the Golden patch, I am realistic, it has two dungeons plus AA thats it (I was one of them) I certainly did not expect this many additions keeping in mind they are still working on all the redesign. I wasnt really expecting this much.

This definitely is not by any mean the golden patch. But wow...

The patch notes are gonna be an interesting and long read during maintenance ^^

I loved reading FFXI's version update notes, they were huge and just reading all change, fixes additions etc was really exciting. Of course FFXI version update process was rather archaic and I prefer patches over it, but the whole list for 1.18 patch notes will be great ^^

Can't wait to be a pirate for LL's Grand Company :D

I think Summer event will hit on patch 1.19 ^^, right in the middle of summer time! woo. The sea, the heat, miqotes, female elezens, female lalafells and the Admiral! in swimsuits! OMG!

These new recruit missions better have cutscenes and they better be good and not some wall of text sidequest. last chance to get it right SE, dont mess this up.

If I log on and go to the gridania grand company recruitment office to start my first mission and im just hit with a wall of boring text like these sidequests, I wont be happy to say the least. They have had plenty of time to make cutscenes for these.

It'd be really cool if they had cut scenes...they should show off the game's graphics more

I hope they have cutscenes so people can shut up about wanting cutscenes.

So basically what you're saying is that even if the story is great, it's stupid and pointless if you have to read it? Everything has to be shown in a cutscene right?

I have nothing against cutscenes, I think they're great. However when people complain about the lack of lore in quests but don't bother to even read them because it's not a cutscene, that just pisses me off. The side quest text we actually have right now is pretty interesting if you bothered to read it. It's really setting up a lot of the plot for what's coming up.

I agree. The information side quests provide right now can be pretty serious (the ones that deal subtly with the empire invading and the one that outright make you fight against some Garleans) or pretty funny depending on the NPC. I have enjoyed all side quests I have done, taking them for what they are, side quests.

Edit: there is a guard NPC in gridania who looses his journal notes to some Opo opos, this was a very funny quest to read out. I believe is either rank 25 or 30.

Patch 1.18 is turnin' out to be sssthumtin sssthpecial...just for me!
