and I bet the 90k will still happen during primetime on Primal.

What a great game to start playing recently!

On a side note its beautiful, I only wish I didnt have a compulsion to only play things that I can actually play on my 1 day off a week.

Well, about an hour before the maintenance was announced myself and a few mates queued up for CT, it popped- we all entered. Simultaneous "wtf!"s were heard on Teamspeak.
Every one of us had 90k'd. Once I got back in (about 5 mins later), the CT entry cinematic played... with a total of 7 people in it. Total. From all Alliances.

People slowly staggered in over the next ten mins or so, all complaining of having 90k'd. This was on the Mana data centre. So not all to do with Primal ^_^

What broke anyways? Kinda curious now what game-breaking stuff happened after last nights maintenance.

The problem is probably the same one that has been causing 3 hr maintenances every 3-4 days since open Beta. The servers are totally inadequate for the stresses placed on them. SE did not plan on this game being as successful as it has been. The system needs to be totally redesigned and implemented even if that requires adjustments to the client to accommodate it.

I'm pretty sure OP is exaggerating. While I have seen ENTIRE FCs fall apart due to people being unhappy with the game, it is usually more about the content of the game than the maintenances. A lot of my friends and their tiny FC quit shortly after 2.1 because they didn't like what was added.

Having all my gil stolen because I was AFK while clicked on my retainer. That just sounds really shitty, and was actually a real problem. The real issue is the lack of long term character progression, no content, and a crap economy. The game is bad, its lucky a lot of people like final fantasy. If this game were any other title, nobody would be here still.

I'm sure they started this maintenance on such a short notice for a good reason.
However, there was a maintenance earlier and obviously they broke something instead of fixing it.
It's not the first time and it's getting annoying is all.
I Remember FFXI being the same way. After each update, there was an emergency maintenance to correct what they didn't bother to test beforehand.

You misunderstand. These are not people leaving the Free company except by removal for inactivity. And that number is real.

20-30 players removed for 30 days of inactivity every single week.

There is nothing wrong, and a LOT good about our free company. This number is due to players resigning from the GAME leaving their characters enrolled on the FC.

I have a feeling that, after the success of XI and reasons for it, that they are planning some big things for the future with the next expansion. The content we are getting during updates just seems like ways of entertaining us a bit until they blow our minds away with all types of shit. There's no way this game is not going to have NMs, HNMs, Pop item farming, raiding zones. I can't see them not having the type of content they did in XI. There is just way too much demand for it. I really am looking forward to the game's future!
