Thanks Jynx
I worked with all DX and even the modified PS3 OGL, it's not bot prevention so much as is it needing to port the game to the PS3, they don't seem to work on absolutely separate versions of the game, since XI even crashed on alt+tab and it was a straight port from the PS2 with very little changes to it core.
Yea, I have to agree. This is the only game I have played since FF11 that doesn't allow fullscreen mode. How much time is this going to take? It has been 11 years since FF11 came out, how much more damned time do you guys need?
Dear lord SE,
MAKE.
FULL SCREEN.
WINDOWED.
AN OPTION.
Problem solved.
See its also not just alt-tab thats broken, I was playing in windowed mode and decided to let VLC do its update while I played, when it popped up a user account control dialog XIV lost focus and gave the same direct X error, this needs to be fixed ASAP.
Bayohne, you are amazing. Thank you for putting out the info when you get it. It's a nice change from how SE was with XI
I'm starting to see a trend in community reps' replies. A worrying one.
Especially with this problem, since it's really something that clearly should not happen as it doesn't with any other game out there except for XI and some games infected with GameGuard (like PSU).
As for people suggesting workarounds, they are fine for the moment, but why should we have to use 3rd party tools or disable OS features just because SE can't handle an exception/error call properly?
Yep, thanks for finding the exact link. I knew it must be something like that.
Logical, no? Instead we get people screaming this is not possible because of engine limitations. If an engine developed by a major corporation fails at alt-tabbing while my simple DX experiments do not, then there really is something wrong.Quote:
The fix should be fairly trivial, instead of throwing the error when you loose the device, call the proper reset operations when the device is restored and reload the data back into memory then continue on your merry way.
