LB is not affected by mind and anyway, only LB3 should be used which is 100% hp heal + full rez.

Even if you wanted to play a support Bard, you really can't. You can't use your songs constantly-- they drain MP, and they nerf your damage, and it's not like mages can't restore their own MP anyway.
Bard has really high DPS and all the Archer skills (and Pugilist skills Bard can use) contribute to that. Two DoTs, lots of damage self-buffs, and crits like crazy.
I will grant that there are times when the healer's dead and things have gone crazy and it's up to the Bard to save the day, but that just means activating those damage buffs you usually don't touch (Barrage) and kiting the boss while critting the heck out of it. All your daydream scenarios of using Healing Wind to revive the party? That takes three bars, and you're locked to one or two bars for pretty much the entire game.
Maybe Healing Wind is a valuable end-game raid limit break, but that doesn't mean it's not useless for the first 49 levels and all the story dungeons/battles.
Bard is a vital support role for endgame content. Lots unavoidable damage so mages are busy constantly healing and they can't keep their MP up. Mage's Ballad can make or break a fight.
That's not true. I'm ok with the BRD role of support, with the way the songs work now (liked more on 1.0 however) but what's the point of healer LB if a brd can't heal? I mean as a support heal, if the whm needs a raise or w/e. This LB could fit on BRD1.0, not now.
A non-healing class with a healing LB has a serious strategic advantage in that a group can use a healing LB without the dedicated healer(s) needing to stop healing. I've seen it save one of the more fail Ifrit groups I've been in. One healer dies, second healer is struggling to keep tank/group alive so has no mana to rez or time to stop healing to cast an LB but the Bard can use it and bring the party back from the brink while the remaining healer keeps things going until the LB goes off.
The healing limit sucks for actual challenging fight since u are stunned for like 10 seconds. Never has healing limit break saved the pt for garuda and it wont for any fight with serious mechanics.
Normally the serious fights are lost after a few ppl die anyways due to the loss of dps and the waste of lvl 3 limit break.
How long will pt survive if both healers are down?
For bards to get a dps limit break they need their damage nerfed, they have far to much damage for a support character, to give them a damage limit break would seriously destroy and remove any need whatsoever for the monk and dragoon in a group
I would prefer a 25% damage nerf to all archer potencies in exchance for a dps limit break
Where do people get these numbers? 25% potency nerf across the board just so we can be proper damage dealers? Sure lets make the class useless so they can have a role-fitting LB. 25%.
I really hope they change this to a DD one, there is no logical reason why its the healing one.
