Single Sex Races

I want a demonic race...

Amoeba-type race. No-gender at all and we get to slime everything.

i concur with this statement! Diversity is always good!

I don't care about single sex races. If they do add female only viera, I'd personally vote for behemoth-men similar to those in FF12 as the male counterpart. (but without all the added spikes and fins probably, those would be rather awkward for armor. lol) They're more beastlike, and more fitting IMO than bangaas, as the ones in Ivalice had both males and females. (one of Ba'Gamnan's siblings, Rinok, was female.)

On the other hand, despite there being plenty of King Behemoths, I don't ever recall there being a "Queen" behemoth. A humanoid behemoth race similar to those in FF12 would be a fitting all-male race and bring a touch of the animalistic side to the player races, something that's sorely needed after the void left by the lack of galka. Right now the most nonhuman looking race we can play is a toss up between the freakisly long necks of the dhal... i mean elezens, the midget bat eared lalafells, or the cosplay cats that are the mi'quote.

I reeeeeaaally do not want to see rabbit people in ffXIV: ARR, mostly because I'm anticipating criticism linking them with playboy.
HOWEVER, if people feel like they MUST play as rabbit girls, they should balance them with the werewolves from Final Fantasy V. They're just plain cool.

I've seen some good ideas here, but lets be honest what FFXIV:ARR really needs is something completely new as far as race goes. We could ask for races from other games but they would not really fit here so why not make something that not the normal for final fantasy (if there was a norm). I'm sure that Yoshi-P has some ideas he wants to try himself and we sould support him in whatever brand new race he makes up for ARR.

It would really disappoint me if they go back to having single-sex races... They will finally have evened things out when ARR is released with male Miqo'te and such, only to go back in a future expansion? It just seems so reductive.

If SE adds another animal race... I hope it actually looks like animals this time, not humans in Halloween costumes :(

I think that the fact that they're considering the addition of a new single-sex race is a gigantic step backwards.

We already had single sex races. People wanted both sexes. Why even go to the length of making new models for the missing genders for all existing races if you're just gonna nuke it by adding a new gender-specific race. It makes no sense. None.
