I know exactly what you're talking about. Every conversation in that game was about the game. It was never just chatter between friends.

I miss grinding on sphene doblyns. Never 4get. :'[
kidding
I disagree, people I've met between GW2 and FFXIV haven't been that different.
I'm met with the same "tits or GTFO" in both games. :P
Biggest difference is my blocklist for people argueing over which is best pony in public chat in GW2 was extremely long by the time I stopped playing.
All I miss is my Miqo'te. Cat girls <3 ; ;
I miss gathering for HQ items for high-difficulty synths.
I miss making custom outfits for my midlander.
I miss doing this dance with Hokey Pokey in Ul'dah, and crafting at the Foxhole spot.
I miss drawing my Garuda's Beak to watch it flip open.
I miss taking screenshots for the FF wiki (for safekeeping).
I miss watching cutscenes and doing quests, digging deeper into the lore.
I could go on and on...
I miss my friends and the artist group LS here's a picture one of them drew for me :D i look so awsome!

I miss my LS friends. Some of which I went through multiple linkshells along with the drama, all those that died and faded away, and yet when we see each other in-game it's like we are still in the same LS screwing around and taking pictures of our dead bodies in just about every part of every map.
I miss talking to random people in PUGs and seeing familiar faces in those PUGs. Soon, we will be back in game.
I miss Ifrit extreme lol. was fun everything around blowing up =p. I miss my char and all the stories and people i met and so on most :). Miss secretly videoing friends and people and so on and making videos out of them :X.
2 weeks of Ifrit X learning/spam with great people from all around the globe. Regional servers just plain suck. Hope FFXIV doesn't fall victim to that.
That and I miss crafting. It is a nice way to spend time watching TV while pretending to do something useful so that my brain doesn't rot completely.
I took this during the last days of 1.0, believe it or not. After so many days of Dalamud peeping through the clouds like some celestial pervert, I found that clear skies and a sense of normalcy can be missed too:

It was as if I was pulled from the apocalyptic madness that was the 7th umbral era. Dropped in a world where it all kept turning, and the sun kept shining.
