If you followed the BG forums, especially in its early days, you'd understand why it has the reputation it does with a lot of people. That being said, I don't cast that disdain automatically onto all of its members. There are certain people within the group that are both humble and have made grate contributions to both FFXI and FFXIV's community. However, a significant portion of the group has historically been extremely full of themselves, declaring their way to be the only way, and being extremely judgemental over those whom are not as amazing as they are.
Two groups that, by their very nature, are essentially opposed to eachother are bound not to co-exist smoothly. If BG were to use its awesomeness more to the benefit of those around them instead of flaunt it in their faces, the two groups would get along a lot better.Quote:

Not my cup of tea, but you know how to get your stuff done. And you do care after your members, all of them, which is a trait I do admire above all else.
I've reservations about some of your member's in-forum conduct, but that's a different matter. You take a lot of fire due to the boards that share your name and sometimes you can't help but lash back.

Reasons why BG is hated. What they done in the past. I couldn't care less. I just find it sad that a small group of people manage to rub so many the wrong way. That they have to attack them. Hating BG because they have an elitist attitude is no different then them hating you for the way you play. Attacking a group of people because you dislike them doesn't make you any better then they are. It's rather pathetic. If you dislike them just ignore them.

They (and we) are expecting the playerbase to grow to at least some degree following A Realm Reborn's release. If you took in some of the incoming people that you spy potential in, rather than making a shout out on these forums to all perfect people, then you might actually end up in a better position. Not every non-elite player is satisfied with their current status and wants to become something better, but how do they show this to you? That's what I want to know. Your standard is essentially nothing short of perfection (based on your semi-inflammatory 'about us" page). what BG needs is fresh blood that isn't perfect, but at the same time isn't fully happy to settle for "good enough."Quote:

In my case, and in the case of many others on this forum, we want to be awesome but the problem is getting a group that can stay together consistently. With this game in particular, even when you run into good peiople, sometimes you never see them again even a week from now with the current "check out this patch then go away til the next one" mentality. Hope that shifts a bit after ARR.

i never heard of these guys in FFXI was even asking most of the people who played back on siren that i've keep in touch with and they only heard of them in FFXIV. I only heard of them now and they do seem to be fulled with way to much pride.
I'll be staying on Ridill With The JP/EU Player's that no there awesome but dont call them self elite at all even when there more elite that half of these guys videos

no matter what people want to say they are the best LS in FFXIV and people want the best gear and alot of people only want the best gear and the only way to do that is with a great LS. and there calling you guys super eliteist LOL.
