Perhaps, and just perhaps, it's because there's more than the story ?

I absolutely hated the MSQ, but still enjoyed the scenery, leveling up my jobs, crafting, making money, new glams, doing the roulettes because the dungeons are enjoyable, etc.

So there's that.
