You know, I don't actually want a large, but it's already abundantly clear your ego needs to believe other people are jealous of you in order to stop it from collapsing in on itself altogether, so if it makes you feel better to think that, by all means.

No, just people who have large houses and put across their own individual perceptions of housing as fact and a reason to deter other people being able to get the same thing after already admitting they like having a large in the current system because it feels like a luxury.

Only the insanely rich players could afford a house. But... not a luxury. Especially those 300+ million large houses.

Also, not a perception. Large homes are, in fact, intended as a luxury. Have been from the start. You insisting otherwise is... well, funny.

The only reason I ever responded to this is watching the back and forth between you two and going "Huh. That person is really invested in this narrative they have going." I mean, it really came off as your hide being chapped someone who owns a large had a (correct!) thought on the subject. And the fact that you took issue with their tone in stating the obvious cemented things.

I hope someday you get the house you're after, I honestly do. But this denial of reality isn't healthy.

They were there if you wanted to work towards one, presumably with other people. That's how they were intended at implementation. It's like saying Ultimate weapons are a luxury, or that one Hunt mount is a luxury. Gil isn't handed out based on luck, it's something you earn. But it was done poorly, and at every attempt at rectifying their mistake it's continued to get worse ever since, particularly as the game's grown.

What I said has nothing to do with thinking you're a bully, and like the rest of your post it says more about your own mindset in general than anything I've got to say that that's where your thoughts go.

Though I do think you've got problems that one day having a popular plot and making controversial posts on a website for attention isn't going to solve.

And it's both hilarious and somewhat sad that both of you think this has to come from a place of jealousy rather than considering I might actively want other players to have a better experience that doesn't automatically benefit me in the process. Housing grew boring for me a long time ago, and I don't even sub enough to outrun the auto-demo timer. Not everyone thinks the same ugly way you do.

Absolutely love my Small House, it's perfect size for me and what I like to store in it; I get the appeal for a big/bigger house, but...I still remember when even small-size houses were nigh impossible to get because the same 50 people owned most of the real estate in the game. I get the frustration, but in the long run, it's housing in a video game, and isn't worth the substantial stress and animosity it garners.

i wouldn't what to move from my small , but i after 2year owning it , i do want to get more garden beds. so i am trying every week to upgrade to a mid size. but with all the new house buyer trying to get the largest house for there first house and player trying to upgrade , the bid for a mid or large are reaching 80 to 200 plus per week on siren.

with players wanting the biggest first. i wouldn't blame them. with all the extra things they get. In the time you would, get a win. you could have saved close to 50mil easy. it's not that hard to get 50mil in that time. if you put you mind to it. but with the high demand for houses, i don't know why house are these price.

large 3 outside retainer , 10 inside vendors. 8 facilities crafting buff furniture, 3 outside garden beds . 400 furniture slots for 40m to 48mil
mid 2 outside retainer , 8 inside vendors. 6 facilities crafting buff furniture, 2 outside garden beds. 300 furniture slots for 18m to 25mil
small 1 outside retainer , 6 inside vendors. 4 facilities crafting buff furniture, 1 outside garden beds. 200 furniture slots for 3m to 4mil

Agreed. It was my decisions and effort that got me my mansion. It would be incorrect to say all other people put in as much effort, because they didn't and still don't.

I chose to play on my server. I chose to bid in a harder-to-access district. I leveled alts so they could bid in Ishgard and collected the Gil to afford those bids. I chose to leave my former, nice and quiet, fc so that I could bid in fc wards and use the house should my alts win. I've continuously subscribed and was therefore able to take advantage of the opportunity when they changed a ton of wards from fc wards to private wards and also added new wards.

Actual computer-RNG didn't play a part at all because I got my mansion after being the only one to place bids on it.

Since I didn't luck out, maybe my opinion holds weight? :D If large houses were meant for everyone there wouldn't be only 3 of them per ward.

I'm sorry, do you genuinely think you're one of the only people who has levelled multiple alts and raised gil across the board for a shot at their preferred housing? You don't think people have been doing the same thing for years, especially when Empyreum dropped? Some of you really do think highly of yourselves, don't you?

And yes, you still lucked out; you even point out yourself you took advantage of being around at the right time when the housing switch happened and new wards were added, and you were fortunate not to have any other bids on it.

Pushing the blame on to players for not sacrificing what actually makes the game meaningful for them to drop everything and move to a smaller server where you think they might have a shot isn't a practical argument, either. Competition would still be rife, supply would still be rapidly eaten up and the end result would be exactly the same. The game's population and how housing works is in a drastically different place than it was ten years ago, and the game in general has been sagging under the weight of its flawed and outdated infrastructure for years now. The blame lies squarely with the devs for allowing the problem to compound the way it has.

And again, larges were 3 per ward because they were FC only, ridiculously expensive and it was predicted that very few players would even shoot for them because of the immense amount of effort/ money required for what was effectively a glorified gil sink at the time with very little to them. This weird "luxury" perception is something players assigned a broken system to make themselves feel special because they have something else other players don't, and this thread more than illustrates that that's the crux of the matter for the majority of people arguing against this to begin with.
