Tradition is that all new officers are given or must acquire a silver dollar. You give the silver dollar to the first person who salutes you after receiving your commission. My ROTC MCPO had quite a collection of them, being as he was CMC for our NTC.

Please forgive me. Reserve Officer Training Corps, Master Chief Petty Officer, Command Master Chief, Naval Training Center, HospitalMan Chief Master.

and a Command Master Chief is the head Non-Commissioned Officer of a particular ship or station.
the CMC, having trained you to be an officer, would be at your commissioning and would often be the first person to salute you, as you would now outrank him.

Any chance of some Dev input on this?

i'd rather they keep this a secret to be honest

I personally would like to know from the devs whether this will have a use in the future or if we can just trade it in without worrying. ^^
