lmfao this is one for the recordbooks.

I actually know a few people that met in-game and ended up getting married! And they've been pretty happy marriages at that. Nowadays meeting someone online and falling for them is pretty common. It's not for everyone. I learned I cannot do LDR. I met my current SO outside of the game but playing XIV together certainly brought us closer. Using a video game specifically to try and hook up does sound weird, but it sounds about as weird as using online dating sites or dating apps which is super common nowadays. Online games provide social interactions with many, and hooking up is a social activity for many. It works for some and it doesn't work for others. There's always going to be the risk of the person you're talking to catfishing you in the online world, but there are people out there also genuinely looking for love and on many occasions, it ends up working out!

I don't understand why there's always so much misogyny on these forums. I hate using the word because I don't want to look like some karen but if people are actually dropping takes like that then there's no other way to describe it.
