Relics will have upgrades. Every patch should be another upgrade. At some point, a gil sink will come into place. If taxed through the wards, that should take hundreds of millions of gil out of every server.

Add a Dungeon free to enter once a week, and that u must pay to enter more. Casual people will have enough with some trys per week, and you will sink a lot of gil from hardcore players who have around 300.000.000 gils
