Market Board and Inn in Radz-at-Han

Gameplay reasons countering logic and lore is poor sense. Besides they got it backwards. Sharlaya the isolationists that strive to hoard knowledge and artifacts gets a market board but no collectables amd splendors? The merchant Capitol of the world that exports far more than it takes in, doesn't get a market and hands out scrips. Makes no sense here. Sharlaya doesn't even get its own teleport tab, Sharlaya is tucked into other with mor donuts!
Considering you don't even get to explore the island of Sharlaya (Lab is an artificial cave under the dang city) it seems silly they were considered a Capitol and not a outpost.

Limsa is precisely why they -don't- design future cities that way. It's cluttered and in recent days I've been entirely unable to even load into Limsa due to congestion in the area.

On topic: Personally I'm not sure why they don't just make the marketboard accessible from anywhere in the world (a la Guildwars), but make actual pickup of purchases at the market area (or retainers?)

I guess some don't realize they use teleport costs to control the inflation of gil in the game, so that's one reason. Second, keeping traffic lower by splitting off things is better.

Also for SHb things like the weapons gear is in Mor Dhona because those don't take place in The First. Whereas the other trials did.

Is the tax system thing still in place? I recall it used to matter what city you bought from or posted in (I think tied to your retainer and where they were hired?)

Honestly I wouldn't mind scrapping all of that and just streamlining the mb and adding more mb purchase locations.

There is still a tax system but that's also..weird. The whole market system in FFXIV is weird to be honest. But yes- the tax is related to where the retainer is "stationed".

The Guildwars 2 market system is just so much better..not sure why FFXIV did it the way they did.

Rowena is actually from Thavnair and get's her supplies from Thavnair. What I find odd is that the tombstone vendors in Thavnair have nothing to do with Rowena which suggest that a higher powered merchant than Rowena operates in Thavnair.

Yeah, it should probably have a MB there too. It just makes sense. Maybe further back in the market area. People will still use Limsa and Sharlayan because of the MB's close proximity anyway.

Yes, there's the Rp reason you mention, and there's another one that allows you not to overload Old Sharlayan, because people will surely come crying that it's the lag capital.

That's why the Tombstone and Marketboard vendors are shared between the two capitals, so that the burden can be shared. This is popular MMO common sense.

The only thing I find missing is the FC chest.

It probably has something to do with diverting population around as online games tend to do. If everything were conveniently in one little spot there would be an insane amount of congestion, so they purposely put more important things in different directions / locations.

One of my hope and wish for this expansion is we no longer have House of Splendor for our gear and Gerolt for our relic. The first obviously has been disappointed, and I doubt the 2nd will change. No thing against the two but they're pretty much just meme at this point.

Most of the MMO will introduce a new faction to give the new gears some kind of lore. It's probably one of the most un-creative part of FF14.
