The issue is that Dalmasca is under control of the IVth legion during the Bozja quests and use the largest remaining city as their capital. We see Gabranth standing in Valnain in cutscenes at the beginning and the end of the storyline. It would be super awkward to rectify if a full expansion took place there. If Bozja started with Gabranth leaving Dalmasca to focus his attention on Bozja that would be one thing, but Dalmasca is his main seat of power and capital of his new country while Bozja is a side thing going on so that he can uncover powerful weapons.

I’m a super big Ivalice fan and would welcome streamlining Bozja to have an expansion take place there. I would even welcome streamlining Bozja just for QoL improvements and to get more people through it.

That said, they’ve already told us what a new Dalmasca story would be like and it’s not MSQ material. And as much as I like that place, there’s so much more original content they can stage an expansion in instead of stepping too deep into existing FF. Ultimately, I wish Tanaka didn’t make this FFXI-2 with the same races as FFXI and we got Ivalice MMO instead, but it’s too late for that now.

Oh I'd never want a Dalmasca MSQ either. As much as I've enjoyed the Ivalice and Bozja stuff they should remain side stories. MSQ should always be original material.

My hopes for Dalmasca content are another 24-man, based around Lea Monde, where we chase down rumors of the "Ghost of Gabranth" and have to rush through the Undercity to the Grand Cathedral where the Auracite weapons open a portal to the Iron Maiden and the demons locked within. But I forget where the source was that they considered the next Ivalice project to be more story based with some solo-duties around, more like Cid's Memory in Bozja. Which I don't dislike, but I'd rather... well, exploratory where I can take in the scenery after we're done.

Gabranth's seat of power is in Landis (West of Bozja and Dalmasca), not Dalmasca. Dalmasca was just a held territory, mostly ruined because of the fighting that has taken place there.

I suspect the solo story stuff will likely be a political drama (Matsuno's good at those) where we're having to deal with people plotting behind the backs of the leaders of the various Resistances as they're having to set the countries up after the IVth Legion was defeated. Attempted assassinations (possibly a successful one), a mystery on who is behind it, and shocking reveals that keep us guessing.

I almost forgot my own topic here, I'll update the original post due to slight changes recently.

As for the fog map right now, I'm confused why the artist behind it never updated it yet?

Ilsabard is such a massive continent that perhaps they simply felt like they'd tackle once it actually becomes the primary focus of a future expansion.

Endwalker wasn't really focused on any one region in particular.

It was a bummer that we skipped over a lot of Ilsabard to get to Garlemald and didn’t get anything revealed. Still looking forward to seeing what the floating islands, the whale, and the giant are. I think Koji or someone else once said he can’t talk about them when it was brought up at fan fest so they’re possibly more than a “here there be monsters” artistic map addition.

Would also be nice to get the veil lifted over Bozja, Gangos, Ghimlyt, Werlyt, and Terncliff, in the next updated map so we can have a better idea of where we’ve been. I wonder if they’re yet to be revealed and their locations are a vague “over there-ish” because of possible finalizing over an Ilsabard expansion or maybe at least leaving the possibility open for one.

One reason to go to ilsabard is to help the various territories deal with the power vaccume left by the collapse of Garlemald. That said, most of the legions seemed to surrender to the Eorzean alliance in he Endwalker MSQ (Unless I misunderstood) Either way, there is a lot of fodder for story and expansion.

In another note, we did tick off the treaure beneath the bountry from Emets list in 6.1 so i suspect some more of those will be ticked off in a similiar fashion as we progress further - its probably worth considering that that list does not all have to be MSQ related.

This is what I took from this interview as well. It seemed that the geopolitical landscape of the game was going to be drastically changed with Endwalker and now seemingly 7.0 (the "change" on the horizon), so continuing this side story would need to wait till the main story could catch up, giving new context to the new story.
