That was a troll here editing the tags. The readers here ate it up.
Playing a video game does not equate to marketing knowledge, but I understand folks feeling a correlation there, or personal sense of entitlement to authority based on time played. You don't think marketing half-truths months out and effectively tricking consumers into an addition month of sub is at least a tad deplorable compared to keeping a closed lid/NDA on the mystery behind an expansion? I don't think they are comparable. I guess to each their own?
If you guys are going to spam about WoW on a FFXIV forum the least you could do is edit your comments instead of double-posting...
Regardless as opposed to another thread and topic people threw a fit about as being '' not FFXIV related '' even tho it was this actually just isn't and shouldn't be here.
If you want to talk about WoW take it to the WoW forums and I don't think that self-promotion is even allowed on the forums and no one likes it it's obnoxious.
You keep saying a lot of words but no meaning behind them. Marketing knowledge would tell you that 9.1.5 is not a brand new content patch, so if you left previously due to lack of content -- why highlight it as a major systems change patch? Marketing knowledge would tell you it would not provide enough of a net gain to do such.
On top of this - as I previously said and you avoid addressing is that Blizzard has openly said its coming later in the patch multiple times in September/October. Which makes zero sense as a point of marketing knowledge to say (as said by you) "crown jewel" of the patch to come later. It means that you would receive an upfront burst of resubs or long-lasting subs from day 1 of the patch. Your argument is of consumer ignorance not of knowledge.
"But when SE does it its because of NDA". And you said I was arguing from a dishonest point of view.Quote:

WoW bad, FF14 good. Upvotes to the left.
You're triggered in some way that brings out your dishonest side, and causes you to edit tags here in a distasteful way. Good luck with yourself, brother.
Honestly, the WoW devs still don't get it, even after all the heat the company has gotten recently. I had planned to stick around for 9.1.5 because I wanted to level some alts but...in the span of about 2 weeks what they have said and what they have shown just tells me that they are still as distant as ever, and that they are desperate for a quick buck. I'd have to disagree that WoW as an MMO ended with Wrath. Cata began its slow decline, sure, but there were periods where it was still good in my opinion (MoP and Legion mostly). But even when the game was doing pretty well, the people running it were still horrible people, and that probably helped to drive the dev team's creativity into the ground. It's hard to feel inspired when you hate your job. But yeah, they are most definitely trying to "poach" some players from FF XIV with the Mage Tower re-release in December. It's just not going to work as well as they probably hope. It's certainly not going to get me back. This isn't anything new for Blizzard though. They almost always time their releases based on their competitors' schedule. I just think that it highlights their desperation right now more than ever. I'm not really trying to say that one game is better than the other. Both have their pros and cons. I'm just trying to provide a little bit of insight into what's happening with WoW that even the OP seems to be missing in what I can only assume is their video based on the description below it.
Who the heck cares? Is it really so hard to enjoy a game without having the need to show moral superiority over another game just to farm likes and clicks?
You don't need to bash other things to feel better with the choices you made. And if you do you are just part of the toxic community in all games that make this (online) world a worse place.
Yeah, when I was nine years old, it was "NES is better than Sega Master System!" and then people would fight about it. 1985. Then SNES was better than Genesis, or Genesis was better than SNES, and here's why... also here's why Nintendo is better than Sega or Sega rules over Nintendo.
Then it was Playstation versus XBOX versus Nintendo 64. Microsoft sucks, Nintendo sucks, Sony rules. Or any combination of the three companies either sucking or ruling the world.
PC versus Mac.
Laserdisc versus DVD.
Vinyl versus CD.
...These arguments over formats and game companies and such are very, very, very old. People think they've stumbled on something new these days, making YouTube videos about it and Instagramming and Snapchatting and streaming their "brand new" ideas on Twitch.
News flash: One is not innovative or edgy or even inherently entertaining by bashing one video game company over another. Both companies are clearly successful, despite social issues.
All these Blizzard vs. Square videos and Reddit threads and what-have-you... are just perpetuations of arguments nine-year-olds had forty years ago.
Both Blizzard and SE make great games enjoyed by millions of people. Back briefly to what I said earlier, Genesis is not "better" than SNES; they're just two different video game systems with hundreds and hundreds of great games each. Equally, "Blizzard" is not better or worse than "Square"; they're just two different video game companies with dozens of great games each.
If you were to make such a determination, it'd be subjective anyway; one cannot quantify "better" in terms of enjoyment of a game. If you want to talk profitability or innovations then that's an entirely different discussion.
I used to run a video game store in the nineties. I've seen people actually get in physical altercations over whether their Neo-Geo was better than Genesis because it "had more bits":
"Genesis has way more games!"
"Yeah, but Neo Geo has arcade ROMs in the carts, and has eight more bits than Genesis!"
"Genesis has Sonic!"
"Neo-Geo has Metal Gear!"
"Neo-Geo SUCKS!"
"Yeah? YOU SUCK!"
Slaps ensue. They did take it outside pretty quickly. I called the cops many, many times over the years for customer behavior, but that (weirdly enough) wasn't one of the times.
I get how divisive the issue is... I just wish we as humans would "evolve" out of bashing other people's subjective enjoyment of entertainment. Chocolate isn't "better" than vanilla, rock 'n roll isn't any "better" than house music, blue isn't "better" than green, and SE isn't "better" than Blizzard. Anywhere you wanna 'vice-versa' those, feel free.
Didn't seem to help with this other video of yours.
