I was so focused in going to one place to another and doing quests that I have never gone to buy anything, so I was wearing the gear I was awarded with or finding. Even I wasn't aware when I was given my Soul Crystal at lvl 30 because I might be a little... clueless sometimes, so my job as a healer was a little more difficult than it should at that level.
As you can see, it was a good advice :_D

PS: Fifth time I try to reply this. I don't know how that "daily post limit" works exactly :S

I don't get how the daily limit works either.
Sometimes it refreshes at 10pm, sometimes it's at noon the next day. I wish there were a visible timer attached.

Usually I'd join a guild in games that do endgame content but since I'm perfectly fine with queued stuff here, i don't need it. I just want people that talk.

However, i have standards and won't join a FC that auto invites. Gives me bad flashbacks to WoW with the addon "Super Guild Invite", which would do a search for unguided people and auto send invites. *Shudders*

This game can be very chatty in all aspects asides some dungeon duties. I get alliances for raids/pvp to chat up all the time with stupid comments about w.e we're fighting. Just initiate it. Also very rare to find someone not willing to chat in your FC, LS or randos in town. Also a lot of open world content like treasure hunting has a lot of chatters while you do them.

Dungeon duties are unique because people do hundreds of them and just want it over with as quickly as possible. It's rare that anyone whos been in this game a bit enjoy doing the same dungeon for the 10th time. My only advice is don't take it personally.

Gah. This will be the only time I'll ever support those silly RP taverns... but if you're that starved for just chatting people up, they're a great place to spend a few hours. As that's all they do, aside take 20k gil for a 20 gil vendor drink.

I accepted to know how that works. I don't know what one can gain of inviting so much people, surely there should be some benefits, but your FC ends having a lot of players that do not vonnect anymore.

Btw, you, being a lvl 80 dancer, have other goals in ffxiv than a newcommer like me, of course, but I am not so far from your point of view, because I have to choose my online time and have to take things very easy :)

Oh! The other day I had to go to Costa del Sol! Beach! I have to write about it in my blog! Hahaha xD

My mom told me, before leaving my home town and taking that carriage to New Gridania, not to go to places where they serve alcohol... She was the one that chose my gear and you all know how we, miqo'te gitls use to dress in the beginning, so... She is not a very congruent woman.

What is an RP Tavern exactly? :)

For role playing (RP) some people will open taverns, bars, restaurants in their personal or FC houses in the residential areas associated with the city states. It can be a fun way to just hang out, role play if you like, meet different people, and chat. There will sometimes be shouts in the cities advertising when these taverns are open.

Oh, and that some of them charge a fee is news to me. All the ones I know of are free. My friend runs one sometimes and she always gives people a free welcome drink when they come in, and no gil is involved after that. It's just a nice place to talk in game.
