In my opinion someone doesn't need to be a woman to play as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider games nor do they need to be a man to play as Noctis in Final Fantasy XV. As such, I think the current system in FFXIV is fine.

Agreed. Imo it would be an extreme waste of resources and there's a lot of other urgent things that need to be addressed in the game. I'd also feel pretty weird if it just all of a sudden became a thing of npc's referring to me as gender neutral. I dont think its much of a necessity at all tbh.

You can literally change your gender any time you want in this game. Whats the point except wasting more dev time?

Because nowadays people care more about their identity as trans, not the identity of the gender they want to transition to.

So you're saying the gender fluid should be forced to PAY MORE than everyone else in order to be properly represented in the game's dialogue at all times? Really?! It's 2021 people; time to wake up!

Despite it being a good idea, it's probably never going to happen.
There's been several threads about this before over the years.

Like a lot of things, I have no issue with the idea. However, I think they should focus on what the game actually needs first.
