That is exactly what it means to the WoL, someone who will gladly help out even with menial chores. The ability to smite primals does not make these errands beneath the WoL.

No one should say "Your fun is wrong"- if you are enjoying the game in your own way, all the more power to you.

But, also, nobody really cares if someone else enjoys the story or not outside of the Devs.

From what I've seen generally, an insurgence of people readying to pounce on cutscene/story skippers only really occurs if you then subsequently complain about the content or lack thereof, especially since it accounts for around 100-200 hours of the main story and world/character building through sidequests.

People can play how they like, be it story skipping with AFK hours at Limsa for social activity, raiding, running primals/dungeons, or achievement hunting. But again, see above; you can't complain about content, and then skip, or declare non-participation on the majority of it. That just tries to deflect a player-issue off as a development/game issue (I'm not saying issues are non-existent; just don't use it as a copout for not enjoying sufficient enough spheres of the game).

The story of Shadowbringers is excellent. The stuff that came before it, not so much. Many won't agree with me on that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I do feel that skipping out on MSQ from 4.4 onward is a big loss, because SHB story was great. But I mean, I am aware that it's an accumulation of all these various plot points, characterizations, and bits of lore across the MSQ from 2.0 onward, so it could be that SHB is a miss for someone who isn't aware of any of those things, or worse yet has antipathy for them.

The devs though have made it clear by allowing cutscene skips in the first place that people should play how they want AND that unless enough of the community are idiots about it (2.0 end dungeons), they won’t force you to watch them.

i dont hate people who skip all the story if all they want is the top 10% end game content

what i hate is people who skip all the story and proceed to say the story "didnt make sense/nothing special/bad"

reminder that one mmorpg "youtuber" done exactly that (and more) and got berated by many people even other youtuber and later delete his vid days later (absurd dislike) and his reason is "i got death threat"... what a joke lol
