I run a ASUS G53S. Runs the game great. I paid $1200.00.
cpu i7
gpu gtx560
2X 500 HD
8g ram
I travel for work so when I am on the road I used my laptop. When I am at home I play on my custom built desktop. If you have a choice and to not need to have your PC portable; I would recommend a desktop. My desktop runs the game better and was not that much more than my laptop including monitor.
Desktop
AMD 1090T
AMD 6850 x2
8g ramm 1600
1TB 7200rpm HD
corsair 750 PSU
ASUS Sabertooth MB

Lenovo Y5xx series runs it fine. Those will run you about $800+
But you're probably better off building a PC

Usually I was playing on my core2quad 6600 & Nvidia 560 GTX with max settings. But since about 3 weeks ago my house got renovated, I had to revert to my old ASUS UL30VT for playing this game, which I haven't use since I'm done with my thesis.
Turns out, it was quite good playing on this rig again. Of course I had to put settings to medium and negate all shadow effects, but not so much loss in quality tho. The one pic I posted with Urianger was taken from this laptop too. :D
And I almost sell this baby...
tho done with my thesis and didn't really need it. I was wrong. :p
BTW, about a year ago I got around 500 score with this lappie using FF14 benchmark program. :)

I have an MSI gaming notebook that I caught during a fire sale on Newegg for only $600 (I think they were retiring the model):
i5 460m
ATI 5870m - no cooling pad, heats up to ~80-85C max
4gb DDR3
1440x900
I keep the settings on standard with a couple goodies on like AA and shadows. Runs anywhere from 10 to 50 fps, depending where I am. But it's 100% playable.
