This right here is completely incorrect. The 24 man raids and the 8 man raids are all pretty simple and straightforward. They're casual.

It's unfortunately easy to predict what they will announce. Rather, you're really just guessing the theme of the content. They have followed such a strict pattern that I've kinda burned out on getting my hopes up.
ROFL. These things are nowhere near Savage level, I say this as somebody who has done Coil and Savage on and off since 2.1. You could make a case for the normal raids feeling like toned down versions of ARR EX fights, but even that would be a stretch. The devs are just now going under the assumption that you at least know how to deal with the bare minimum of mechanics and how to figure them out when you enter these fights, which you should at this point. If you haven't used a level/story skip potion you've been through enough dungeons, alliance raids, trials, and solo instances for you to recognize these mechanics or figure them out relatively quickly and adapt to them.
Considering that you have 4x as many unrealistic expectations that includes "basically anything" than you do realistic expectations, you might be better off just tuning out come Feb 5th, and spare yourself a boatload of disappointment. You might instead want to reflect on why you play the game currently. If you want a different mmo so badly, then play another mmo.
When you title a thread, "February 5th Announcement, Realistic Expectations Thread", you create an expectation that at the very least you will be the one to provide some of those. Instead, you used it as a front to voice various improvements you want with the game; effectively turning it into a wish thread. While I can't guarantee anything, I would put several months salary on the line in wager than none of your unrealistic expectations will make it into the Feb 5th announcement. I would wager even more that they never make it into the game at all.
When Yoshi says to bring high expectations come Feb 5th, I am pretty sure he is not talking to the pessimistic, debbie downer who is greatly dissatisfied with the current state of the game. He is talking to those who are actually excited to see what they've cooked up.
Considering how weak ShB is (except story) I have basically no expectations. I will probably just read summary.
Realistic expectation
- An expansion
- Unrealistic expectation
- Good job design
I'm hopeful we'll get something of a preview of a few new level 90 artifact gear for jobs.
No? Not at all. The game was dumbed down to the point where the only real difficult content is Savage and Ultimate, and even that isn't saying much.
It amazes me how the game is honestly the easiest it has ever been and people still claim that it's getting more difficult. Come on now.
Fight design this expansion does assume that you know the bare minimum of mechanics introduced up to this point. Stacks, soaks, pairs, not standing in the obviously telegraphed AoEs, taking tethers, etc., but those are the basics that everyone should know. If that is difficult, I fear this may not be the game for those who continue to struggle with these things this far into the game.
My realistic espectations are just the usual stuff:
-New expansion
-Plot directions
-Cinematic trailer
-Job announcement
The same stuff of always.
About what yoship say about high spectations well to be honest he make a lot of promises he couln't keep later on and i think making that sentence could be anything but if im gonna do as he say and my high spectations are:
-HW DRK gameplay adaptation an return.
-more dunegons and more engaging
-more battle content from midcore to highend content
-a training ground on the novice network that introduce a deep tutorial of every job at max level that teach you how all the mechanics works (not optimal gameplay but only teaching you how to work the mechanics) and a area to practice with all roles.
-both viera and rogthgar update in head customization and genders.
-tanks and healers gameplay more engaging and complex, more skill flor for the ones that want to be dedicated to the roles.
-and overall less brainless and short content that last just one week.
I doubt any of this will be true to be honest but a dream is a dream.
