New World (basically, the Americas) I thought, for the Miqote origins.
Though I'm still holding out hope that one of the Allagans was basically Elon Musk, and genetically engineered himself up some catgirls.

I'd guess New World too for Mi'qote, and Lalafell are originally islanders.
With all the signs seemingly pointing at Garlemald, I'd love to see that sharp turn toward what I believe is Hydaelyn's version of Australia. We've still got a number of places left to go in the Source, which means more ways to draw the story out.
Interesting conversation happened over on the FFXIV Discord earlier in the lore section. Lots of talk about the Presence in Silvertear Lake and how it was meant to be a major plotpoint in 1.0 but has since been retconned. However, seems like Yoshi is hinting this might come back in some form. Most of the speculation in that Discord discussion seems to be that whatever is in Silvertear will either be the focus of the next expansion or it might be the next overarching story (Season 2).
Essentially, we haven't seen the last of Middy, and his pact with Hydaelyn may be explored more.
I just do not see them doing another sharp turn from Islabard again, they already did it last expansion, if they do it two expansions in a row it will just get old and repetitive and be made into a bit of a meme. If this last patch has taught us anything they are not predictable with the story but i just feel that 6.0 will be a wrap up of most of the plot points that have been going on since 6.0 and i just do not see that happening without going to Islabard, with Sharlyan as the Kugane of the expansion. plus i believe Yoshi P. has mentioned wanting to move on to new plotlines so just leaving the Garlean threat as a lingering plot line even after The Zodiark/Hydalyn plot line is resolved just does not make sense. Plus it will get old and repetitive.
