There's a sort of high i get out of healing in this game. I love it right when a patch comes out and nobody knows what the hell they're doing. So much chaos, so much extra damage being taken. As a healer i feel like one of the most impactful people in the group.
Also, it's aesthetically pleasant.
If Squeenix would make content that STAYS exciting like that, instead of being predictable down to every second of a fight, heal jobs would be SO much more popular and fulfilling. (Although we probably wouldn't always get instant queues, even when "tank" is the adventurer in need...)
They can shrink healers to only having 2 skills and it would still sadly be enjoyable to me
Having said that i 100% understand the issues healers have and cant stand those who say "hur dur i enjoy it idk why nor do i care about the bigger picture" of some attitudes. I hope the devs dont just listen to those ppl
I'd love to have more 'rng-based' fights for that little thrill of unpredictability. Maybe not some one shot mechanic but idk, some random unavoidable aoe wave or mini tank buster here and there would do - mainly in alliance and dungeon bosses, I'd say, since raid bosses already have a lot on the table.
I stay with WHM because I don’t see a problem with it. I like where it’s at right now. It’s simple to play, it’s reactionary and I don’t have to memorize a long complex rotation to play it. If SE changed it to something more complex, I would probably stop playing healer (or stop playing the game completely since I’m terrible at the other roles and don’t find them as fun).
