DRK QOL changes for 5.4

if there's one change i wish SE makes in the future, its to bring back the Dark Arts animation during the DA proc for TBN.

right now, when TBN pops, you get a small visual indication of like a few red bubbles flying to your character, but I think it would be cooler if once TBN pops your character does the old dark arts animation to signify that you have it ready. since I mostly play while looking at my character, that visual indication would be a nice change and a good way to bring back the old animation without bringing back the skill, which could be problematic for people with high ping.

Just a change I would love to see

only if they also bring with it the reduced animation lock on DA in a SB patch.

Now Yodhi P has said there will be no more tank changes in the 5.x series, can we get rid of these pointless threads?

is wanting positive changes to come to a job that has needed these changes since the expansion released pointless?
is wanting quality of life changes that bring a bit of balance for the playerbase of a job pointless?
is DRK the perfect job with absolutely no problems in both its playstyle identity and its overall performance across levels 1-79, not just lv 80?
is it wrong for people to criticise changes that they feel have stripped away both the decision making aspect and resource building and spending of the resource generation tank?

I don't really think so. in fact, I think these things are worth fighting for. I think that DRK is in a state of total imbalance across its leveling kit in comparison to the other tanks leveling kits, and I think that DRK is in a state of unique gameplay loss, which is also hurting WAR's gameplay identity. and I'm sure I'm not alone in these feelings.

If you don't agree, that's fine. but why try to stop others from fighting for what they believe is a healthy change to one of the most popular jobs in the game?
why try to stop others from fighting for what should be a better designed job, seeing as how its being toted around as the poster boy for the expansion?
why try to stop others from fighting for changes that would only be healthy for the life and longevity of both DRK and the game itself?

it was some interview around the time of the live reading of the patch notes or the prelim notes.
He said more accurately that, at least for tanks, he feels like they're done with potency adjustments. That's all, but I've made a similar remark that yeah, potencies are good and done, and I myself doubt that there'll be anything else to come for tanks.

If that was before 5.3 then honestly then Yoshi-P should have known better how bad Dark Knight is with its self sustain(or lack-thereof) as well as how bad its MP costs and long recast timers and how bad Blood Weapon is and he needs to tell the other devs to rework Dark Knight into something that doesn't suck in terms of a DPS rotation as well as self sustain and has better cooldowns outside of "ThE bLaCkEsT nIgHt Is ThE bEsT cOoLdOwN HERPA-DERP!" because The Blackest Night sucks.

No one cares about potency adjustments though. I thought this thread was about Dark QOL changes.

well this thread's proposed changes might lead to potency adjustments due to the fact that DRK would be generating more resource with a lower cooldown CnS, 2 abyssal charges, an extra quietus/bloodspiller every 90 secs from Salted, and Stalwart being moved to lv 40, but the DPS gain wouldn't be too bad, seeing as how DRK is the lowest in terms of DPS atm. i think that DRK could, and SHOULD, have had these changes since at least 5.2, seeing as how its been in a state of total chaos for the last year, but I think that may stem from something bigger..

The lack of a dedicated Tank (and healer) developer. atm there are only 4 battle system devs, and those devs have openly stated that they prefer to play DPS and don't like playing tanks or healers. why hasn't square hired at least one dev for each of the 2 roles? I think that is the biggest problem that's plaguing both tank and healer design.
