I think you might be confused as to the difference between global and regional servers.

So it's all one main system? That's just...I dunno, lol. Other companies have different systems, all in house. Granted, I guess it wouldn't make sense now that I think about it, to have one separate one for the EU recommended one but...Oh god it's all coming together...
I had to lol at all these posts in here. Come on people, No matter what time the servers go down, someone is going to be affected. Now I have seen a few posts that make sence. SE or to be more specific, Yoshi and his team are busted there humps trying to fix this game and to bring to a state that a Final Fantasy title should be. Basicly, the game as it is right now is a beta. Yes were paying for it now but SE is still losing money based on the work that was and is still being put in to it. In order for them to fix this game, that game has to go down. Think of it as your job. You have a big project that has to be done that day, Would you wait till the very last min to complete said project? and what if problems arose? Would you want to work overtime to fix said problems? Now think of it as a company.. SE has already lost a crap ton of $$ on this game because of the state it was in when launched. Would you as a company waste even more $$ on a bunch of your employees working overtime? or Would you think it was financially smarter to start the project upon frist shift start time? Point is, quit complaining and go do something like read a book... go on a date... spend time with family or your kids... get a job... or even eat something that isn't microwavable for a change.. :) I for one want to thank the development team for the great work and time there putting into this game so it can live up to the Final Fantasy name.
not sure how you get my loss. read this sentence please. it is in the very post you quoted.
"i'm not a eu player so they come back up close to my prime time, but i can see their point".
if it needs to be broken down i can do that. my playtime is not affected most times since they are up during my prime time, but i can understand the view of the people in the eu time zone it does affect.
I was happy with the time for the first time^^
Usually it's always like 8 or 9 pm in EU when the servers go down, but today it was 11-12 pm when people started to leave and go to bed anyway :)
Sure, it sucks for NA players, but people from EU had to bear with it one and a half WHOLE YEARS.
Everytime someone said "Well, that's not really fair, how about we rotate it?" NA players were like "Sucks for you, but I don't care; rotating, are you stupid? Why should they do that?"
But now maintenance is during NA primetime ONCE and suddenly many think rotation is the way to go and it's oh-so-mean there was maintenance during their usual online time.
Hypocrites..
"Sorry, JP onry"
Being new to ffxiv, I thought something was screwy with my internet, went to site info and found it was being maintained. It does suck because I'm at my awesome job where I get to sit my ass on a computer all night and play games, but Instead of complaining I just broke out the synth ingredients list on the main site and started taking notes for levels 1-10, whew....
