Ever seen models with unique faces with hair slightly off-model? I have in either Black Desert Online or TERA. You could clearly see the hair lifted up off the model. Yet people still kept asking for more bestial races with unique shapes compared to the rest of the demi-human races.Quote:

The short of it, they'd have to have their own unique footwear as well as being limited on head pieces because of the ears and head shapes. The player models and the footwear we wear is flat. It would be a coding nightmare and quite frankly a ton of work just to make one race viable aesthetically.
We wouldn't have rhothgar if they did that for example, and possible a later release date. I don't think people understand how complex/complicated new character models can be, especially if they have unique features that make them not fit into any of the current assets. -

I feel sorry for all the people who are obviously terribly unhappy with and within the game and specially with the looks of their characters (judging from all the threads that go into the direction of this one). Not saying that more options or more unique features wouldnt be nice, but at the same time I look at my character and cant help but to think that I'm extremly happy with her and that anything added would be a minor QoL, not a gamechanger. And if the dev-investment is to high for that, thats okay! So... I feel sorry for everyone who cant look at their character and be happy with what they've created...
I never really understood why people are requesting more and more races to be added to begin with - is adding a new race per expansion something WoW did and now people think of it as a standard for MMOs? To me it often feels like they just want options for options sake and will ignore 95% of them... a bit how I buy 5 different types of sweets only to have to throw half of them away in the end because they've gone bad (but I wanted the options at home!) -

Honestly Square really should just stop with races, its too much work I keep hearing. I honestly think they should stop with classes too, but they dug that hole and they'll have to live with it, because they said they wanted to make a lot of jobs available. So well whatever there, a dozen DPS is what we're gonna get, I'll cry if we get more limited things, and well... hopefully they get happy with the way the classes (Healers...) work soon. Because... I fear square might end up doing the pruning that WoW does every expac and then no one will be happy. -

That is of course understandable and i know that that it needs alot of rework on already existing stuff, but that is the point, eather i try hard and make a full race and also work on older stuff and life with it or i let it be with races in my opinion, as said u blame Square on this part, not Yoshida for refusing to support his team and givign them more resoruces to provide full works and reworks on things instead of those what we getting.
FFXIV is simply a game that started way to late with new races and also having way to much gear in game causing this problems, i mean we have like a new set every two level, its way overdone even in newer content you got white gear from traders every two level, on top of the dungeon gear, each one with its own design, apart from some lazy redesigns like makign them colourable way to late in another set.
Point is i do understand there limitations and decisions, people should understand that overall and stop demanding such then, or else as i said we get more and more halfbaked things and over such no one is happy about. Bluemage as example could work, switching abilitys and needign a simple basic aibltiys for dugneons while the rest is optional and or updates simply like other classes like SCH and SMN dots as example. Because lets be honest, its not about the identity anymore, look at SHB changes to classes, Warrior looses his health boost, etc. It is all about balance and games liek this need balance, even fi it goes against a class status, it shoudl still be identificable but needs a basic gamepaly to work with the rest of the game and Bluemage on taht hadn is justa gimmick they put in because they listend to demands of people.
I like Yoshida and his team as said often enough but no one is perfect, in my eyes they need to show some strength on there side, as dumb it sounds, but listening always on the community is also not as good at times, because as often stated, we not knwo what goes on in the background so we are no experts to recommend changes, sure they sitll can listen but not to everyhing and should and need to show that they not bow to everything. -

They are variants of the previous races, so it's just a skin change for most (except the human allied race got a beefier model). This would not be a problem, except that 2.) You cannot roll one right off the bat. Some, you have to grind reputation from the previous expansion which means you need to have a character to level 110 before you can start the rep grind (which takes about 2 weeks if you're just starting out), others you need to grind rep in the new expansion (did not play it, so unsure how long it would take - probably longer since it's a new xpac and they generally don't nerf the rep required until part way through an expansion). For people who never played WoW, it would be like needing to level an ARR beast tribe to Trusted and it will take approximately 6 weeks of playing every day for a few hours to do so.Quote:
