Is cute must get it!!!!
It's very cute, but mark me down as another person disappointed in the male pants. I've wanted shorts with stockings for years now, but there's still only two in the game that guys can wear, and they're both tank only...tiny correction: one model is tank only, and the other is tank/DRG.
Oh well, I guess the top will look okay with my usual moonfire trunks and tall boots, once I get over the disappointment.
It's a different shape, somewhat longer and doesn't have the undyeable red section, though does have the hanging suspenders instead. I'm hoping they'll be a 'vanishing belt' piece though.
Also, depending on your server and how established your character is, Sailor Brais can be expensive - getting them for my lower-level alt would cost most of his current savings. Will be nice to get these for free.
As others have mentioned, they're spriggan ears - the image Skivvy posted earlier shows the same kind of design with the hood up.
I would call them three-quarter pants.
There are the Sky Pirate pants for mages, perhaps? Short shorts over full-length tights.
Gotcha! I'm not sure if there's a name for them either. Where I currently live, if any of the ankle is exposed, they are just called shorts. The length of the legs of these particular two event outfits are actually an accurate representation of the shorts that boys and girls wear respectively.
Actually, if that's what you're counting as "two", there's also the Yafaemi pants - still only for tanks and dragoons, but it is another model available.
Seems like an odd design choice to do that repeatedly for tanks only. It's not something I'd associate with heavy armour.
That's not the same kind of look at all, though.
The Chimerical Felt Trousers of Fending/Noct trousers of fending model (dyable), and the Yafaemi chain hose of fending/maiming (not dyable) are both shorts with thigh-high stockings models that show up on male characters. The fact that these two sets have pants like this which weren't modified makes all the instances where shorts are turned into slacks for male characters extra puzzling and upsetting...
They are knickerbockers, I think. In my language we say 'nikkers', which is not the same as the british 'knickers'. Though capris shorts as others said might fit as well, probably.
