BLU and EX Primal Spells

I have ran Tam Tara over 10 times with a friend and did not get Mind Blast yet, so i would say all around the rates need to be better.
But no they used the same awful rng system like they have for everything else it seems.
I enjoyed blu until this and still do however with my example above and trying to get the ability from the Flame Sergeant (killed well over 20X) and still no ability i may very well just shelf it if it's going to be like this to acquire most abilities.
Have had enough RNG with all the Relics plus never getting gear from raids.

Shouldn't we also be considered as well that once the BLU hype dies down, it will be a more difficult for BLU to find groups as well since most people would have obtained the skills or moved on from BLU.

the BLU mage will need a means to obtain dungeon and Primal skills through solo means later for long term content wise and for now we can only hope Trust System can help Blue Mage with that issue.

Hopefully we can use Trust NPCs in unsync content as well since the content for BLU is old after all.

Make the EX fights drop totems that we can exchange so at least we know there's an end in sight.

99 x 2/3 min runs isn't great but at least people can do it at their own pace and not get let down by people screwing them over.

Can't complain enough about how skills are obtained. In a 4/4 split for Levi skill and the first 4 got the skill on the 6th try. The other 4 however are on attempt 40+ with no skill.

I can't imagine doing this without being carried by a 70 to make the duty take as little time as possible. This is such a terrible system to lock a big part of the class behind rng. Also on attempt 50+ now while writing this.

Edit: Ok so party finally disbanded after 70+ attempts at levi and the end result was NOTHING! I still do not have the spell after all those kills. The only good thing about the blue mage launch is that my chocobo companion will be level 20 after going 6 levels in a few days. My experience with this class was enjoyable at first but has taken a nose dive off a cliff into a horrendous waste of time. 1k needles till level 50 then spend hours afk in primals hoping you get a spell.

What a joke, anyone defending this garbage is either a SE fanboy or got lucky with their skills after a few attempts.

I farmed Ramuh for around nine hours between Wednesday and Thursday combined. I finally got the spell after all that time. That was soooo much time I could have spent doing anything else. I must have seen two full inventories worth of pony horns I left with 26 Ramuh cards. It took four groups before one half even saw the spell and another 3 to get both groups the spell.

Today, I spent five hours farming Shiva. I didn't see the spell at all. And I still need Titan's and the partyfinder is already starting to turn against BLUs so I know I have to get them soon. I got my DRK mount from doing this today and I was only at around 60 high level duties with it before BLU came out. I always end up swapping to tank because the tank cant keep going that long but if the spell drops I know the group will disband or the BLUs will leave instead.

It just feels like a bad dream I keep falling asleep to have purposefully, hoping there'll be flowers but instead there's just anticipation and disappointment.

Just out of curiosity, I just hit 50 on my blu and am now doing the primal spells. For those that got the spells, how is the dmg output and Is it worth all the trouble? Also, has anyone gotten the spells on NM Ifrit and Titan? I'm 0/10 on Eruption and haven't seen Mountain Buster yet on NM Titan.

My friend is lucky he has me to run him through most of that crap, when I'm bored. Most people though are gonna be SoL when the majority of BLU give up, or the people willing to actually do these group trades get their skills. You don't get in while it's hot you are gonna have an even worse time, and it's already a bad time getting these. BLU isn't even that good apparently, so it's not even worth the grind needed to get these skills. Maybe if it was significantly buffed it would actually be worth it to do level 50 content for "fun".

I personally don't like the class. I got it to 16, got back on one of my 70's to do some duties and still haven't switched back. Not even intending to not play it again, it just worked out that way. I have no interest in picking it up. However, if I did end up wanting to get it to 50, I probably will be SoL for getting skills, I'm pretty sure my friend is banking on me continuing to have no interest in the class, or procrastinating (for years) about leveling it..

They are of varying degrees of 'okay'. Garuda's looks cool to cast and the damage is alright. Ifrit's deals less damage due to no dot but is a nice insta-cast aoe damage. Ramuh's is sweet for single target due to the damage but has the issue of "%less damage for more targets" and it hurts. A lot. I cant speak for Titan or Shiva because I dont have those.

They are not worth the time. Unless you're lucky they are not worth the time, and may the Twelve have mercy on you if you're a completionist like me.

Edit because I should mention: Some of the best spells are still combo spells. Chimera's abilities deal an obscene amount of damage, Bristle + Song of Torment is a dot that hits for a nice amount of damage as an example. Petrify (when it works) + Drill Cannon also hits hard and fast. BLU is...interestingly...something right now. I cant say if it's good or bad.

Eruption/Feather rain share Eruption is 220 placed ground aoe, feather rain is 180 with a dot that is 20 potency last 6s 30s cd
Mountain Buster/Shock strike share both are 310 potency for 1st target then drop lower for more shock strike is ranged mountain buster is physical and you have to aim it like bad breath 60s cd
Veil of the Wharl/Glass Dance share Veil is vengeance Glass dance is aoe 290 potency for 1st with lower for more you also have to aim it 90s cd
All are ogcds have small mp cost they are very disarable to buff blu base dmg output
