Aside from being ugly as sin there's also nowhere it would fit in the lore. Moreover, you wouldn't even get what you're after.

If I seem short and testy about this, it's because I am. How could I not be after watching people beat a dead horse for years on end? And the icing on the cake for me? I'm on BALMUNG. What do you figure it's going to look like HERE of all places if they gave these people bunny girls?

Please cite your source where Yoshi says he regrets showing the Viera concept. I have only seen where he regrets showing the bike because that will never(his words) be added.
Last I saw him say about the Viera was that they were working on how to get the feet to work with footgear currently in the game.

I think he's talking about the way housing currently works allows players to have 1 house per character and 1 house for their FC.

That's basically two possible houses per character as long as their character has enough rank.

Have you not been paying attention to the Return to Ivalice raid? The previously Ivalice-exclusive races of Seeq and Bangaa now canonically exist in FFXIV. It is no longer a remote stretch for them to add Viera to the game.

It would be so cool if we could get a PvP mode kind of like Dark Age of Camelot's RvR! That game's PvP was ahead of its time!

Na, its more like,
GameDevs: We have this anarchic system in place and will not deviate from it because... (insert one track mind that centers on everyone wanting and should be in community wards, reasons.)
Anyway, if these changes to apartments work out big enough and with full functionality of a housing plot, that will go a long way to alleviating concerns of most of the player base.
