i would love a dye that slowly shifts though every colour, would be nice for a disco or some weps.

More subscriptions keeps the subscription cost down. The cash shop has been around for a while, dyes have not always been sold on it. Adding a new item to the Mog Station does not suddenly have some huge effect on a sub price that has not changed in 4 plus years. To claim that a basic game mechanic requires monetization for the game to thrive is very illogical.
EDIT: Approaching your MMO customers like a business issue is not a fruitful endeavor. Pragmatism should not be preached when this is already a rerun of a game. Be benevolent towards the players instead of milking them for cash. It is by our grace that SE can even make cash off FF14: A Realm REBORN.
Obviously I'd also be in favor of more shades of red!
I was going for a western feel today but noticed there's not really any good dyes for brown. So it was like rip. trying to get a chest/coat to match Survival hat.
There are so many metal colors that aren’t dyes yet, and even shades of white that aren’t dyes either. For example there is a shade of white that the Skallan Coat of Healing seems to have, but I can’t get any other gear pieces to be dyed the same color. Even the green and orange is unique. It’s infuriating.

Would be cool to see Solar dye color.
They told us that is impossible to make a item receive 2 colors (I only can imagine the dye system is very bad developed to make this impossible).
But how about a 2 colors dye?
The difference? Simple, instead the item have two slots for color, the dye itself is the two color, like a Pink-black dye.
Some cloths in the game already receive "2 colors" when we dye with one, like the Chinese dress. The original color are Red and white, but if you paint with jet black dye, it's receive back and gray. The gray part could be replaced for the second color of the new 2 color dye.
I know it's fairly unfeasable and would lead to some absulutely garish dye jobs, but I'd like to see them split the dye up into just overarching colors (red, blue, yellow, green, etc) and then have sliders to make more specific shades. You'd likely also need to have a "save color preset" button so that you can dye multiple pieces the same color easily.
Not only dye for clothes, but I would love to have more hair colour options, alot of races + genders lack a red hair colour.
Metallic Pink
Indigo
Oil Sheen (You know black with a Rainbow when light hits it a certain way)
