Yea mp "management" Is a ten ton iron bitch with thm. In that you do not so much manage it as you apply a tourniquet to stop the hemorrhage. But its possible and possible to do it while dealing consistent damage.

nope i haven't played thm since 1.18 for more than a few fights because i think it is boring and not fun at all anymore. i am primarily a main healer now, but no matter how "good" of a thm we get it is always wait for mp because they are out. then sometimes it takes forever for their mp to start to regen no matter how long they stand still.

Stone and Aero are cross class, bro. 5 elements. Ifrit is weak to Wind, "neutral" to Thunder and Earth. Also,
that was jut an example of what's possible to do and still get reasonably good, constant damage without waiting all the time. Of course elemental resistances also come into play, it's as easy as focusing more on the better spells for said battle. Now, if someone wants to spam Thundaga / Firaga combos without even using Parsimony then complain, be my guest.

Wait wait wait. You just admitted you barely played thaumaturge for the last few MONTHS and still somehow believe your input about Thaumaturge MP management is valid and well informed?

I still hold firm that it's possible to meter out consistent damage while stemming the hemorrhage of mp. That's the nature of the beast now. Conjurers get mp handed back to them via i.v drip and that's cool. A mp tapped conjurer is defiantly something you do not want to have.

Is there room for a bit of tweaking to parsimony? You bet your bippy.
Could the sanquine right trait stand to be tweaked to enhance its duration as well? Probably.

To me the fun in thm comes from the balancing act, raw power that must be used wisely. To Nuke or to torture, that is the question. But i realize that others do not share this view and i can dig that. It will be interesting to see what blm and convert will add to the equation though.

I like the strict limit on spells, Blue magic could be learned with the option to replacing old spells with the new spell.

This would mean ever blue mage would be different.

how long do you actually think it takes someone to figure out how to use 15 total abilities? i played it enough to learn the class, but like i stated even the thm's that are brought into parties that are supposedly good do less damage than i did on mine. i guess my few times was enough to out parse the good thm's so it's enough knowledge. my few fights i am referring to are only a few times vs the primals.

i solo alot on thm to learn abilities and how to manage mp, but that doesn't change the fact it is boring in parties now.

all i am saying is that when the so called "good thm's" come into the party it costs the party dps because of the massive amount of time they are inactive. on average the thm's are parsing 8k or more less dps per fight. yes, that is comparing the top archer to the top thm, but that is the best way to guage. if you go by averages the differences are bigger most times.

inactivity = boring to me.

How does adding a ton of pointless spells add more depth? And yes, majority of them would either be useless or redundant.

Rather than buying spells individually (FFXI style), it would be nice if spells were gained via spellbooks that were given as rewards from the guilds at each of the level benchmark missions (20, 36, 40).

Also, it would be neat if guildmarks could buy some non-essential spells for each DoM class. (eg. Scan, Invisibility, Sneak, Oil, etc..)

And when there is a fight which requires 24k dmg within 5 seconds ARC will be lol and THM will be woot?

You guys seriously need to look at the situation these jobs are in and not just what is in the now.

nobody said the other way was wrong. i just stated it was boring to me. that doesn't make it wrong for others to enjoy to do major burst damage then stand and wait.

i started with rpg games, but i have been doing mostly fps games for the last few years. the constantly being active that thm had originally was more fun to me. that is not saying that my opinion should be everyone's opinion. it just says i enjoy constantly doing something just like someone else saying they prefer to tank. each person that plays a game is not going to have the same idea of what they enjoy doing. if they did there would be only one class.

Read my post again. The answer lies within.

Why the hell do you people settle for less? Change is definitely needed, but removing things instead of improving them is detrimental. The spells being useless is not a favorable argument.
