That thread was just posted 2 yeas too early
Not trying to be rude or anything, but I have other things I would like to get done in-game, and once I cap on Creation for the week and get my Omega normal drops, I don't usually run roulettes anymore unless a friend specifically asks me to help them out (which, here's a hint and piece of advice to you: make some friends). Occasionally, I will run Leveling or 50/60 on a job I'm leveling on the side, but lately, I would much rather focus on my crafting and gathering. I don't see how me wanting to spend the time I have online doing things I enjoy (and being quite productive with regards to them) is considered wrong or selfish here. Wouldn't you like to do the things you enjoy without a stranger telling you that you're obligated to queue up for roulettes as a job you don't really want to play (tank or healer) because they're suffering in the long DPS queues (with all the other DPS mains)?
My previous advice still stands: make friends and queue up with them if you do not want to wait in the DPS queues (which are only really bad during peak times on weekends on Aether, and even then MAYBE a max of 40 minutes....MAYBE). Or even make PFs for the roulettes. I see Daily Roulette PFs up often on Aether. Make one or join one. You may meet some people in those PFs that you can connect with and run more content with later. While you're waiting in the queue, do things that will net you experience: sidequests, FATEs, beast tribe dailies. Or do other relaxing things such as gathering or crafting. Or read a book, watch some YouTube/Netflix while you wait, write a poem or a haiku. I don't know. Whatever things you find relaxing and enjoyable to pass the time. Because if you want to main a DPS, then wait times are the price you pay. And really, it's not even that heavy of a price.
Coming here and demanding accommodation is not what you should be doing, and definitely not a way of getting people to help you. Especially since you would be unwilling to do the same if the roles were reversed (based off of your comment about how you refuse to level any other jobs).
We were playing a different game at 3.0 launch then, because healers and tanks had the longest ques. Everyone was on DRK hype train.

I will be honest that the DPS queues can frustrate me at times. But, if the DPS queues are frustrating enough for me, I'll just switch to my tank or healer. Or, if I'm trying to level a DPS specifically, I'll grab a friend who tanks/heals (or is wanting to level one of them), and run with them. Once you're in the duty, yes, it's about the team's wishes on how to go about completing the duty (with a majority rules narrative), but unless you're in the duty or some other group content... to quote the infamous line that angers people in duties all over... "It's my sub. I'll play how I want."
Plus, coming here and showing a refusal to meet in the middle (for example if you'd said you'd tried tanking and were having major trouble with it, some of us could come along and help guide you as a tank, and yes people are willing to offer guidance and support here, or if a disability meant you couldn't take on the extra healing/tanking responsibilities, that's fine), means people aren't willing to compromise here. I find tanking and healing more fun than DPS (and only take the DPS when my brain isn't able to handle the responsibilities of tank/healing), and am always happy to help fledgling tanks/healers get their feet on the ground. But I do take a meet in the middle approach myself. If you're willing to learn, I will guide you to the very best of my ability.
Show us an offer to meet in the middle, and we'll be more forgiving and work with you. But with your current approach of "me me me", don't expect people to show sympathy.
I mentioned previously to find friends, an LS, or an FC, that are OK with you being a pure DPS (most are btw, so don't be afraid to seek them out), and queue with them. That advice still stands if you insist on being a DPS only player and don't want the long queue times. They can also help make levelling other classes less of a chore, as they can make things more fun for you or give you a social element as part of it.
I remember it only lasting a few days on the Chaos datacentre, then it was back to normal for the most part. MCH was hot garbage so people didn't wanna try it, DRK and AST were also woefully underpowered so people didn't wanna stick with it on top of the extra responsibilities and pressure associated with tanking/healing. Oh, and it occasionally showed up all the way until SB launched. Trials roulette was most famous for it.
Well, I kinda don't take my tank into the DF wilds unless I have at least a couple people from my FC/LSes. Sorry? You'll just have to deal with my SAM.
As much as I can (& sometimes do) take my lv70 PLD into EX roullete I mostly don't as I feal I much justify MCH's existance as my other lv70 by qurring as that... also I accept the qurry time as I think its normal for DPS
Won't qurry as something I don't wanna just because you "the OP" demand I play something else, that sounds wrong to me
Word of advice... if you are stuck solo in a dps queue, don't stare at the time, go gather some mats to sell, or to craft something with. Check on your squadron, clean inventory, chat with others, fates, daily hunts... basically any number of things to take your mind off the queue.
Gc turn-ins, I like to make Gil and prep raid food and potions while I wait.
