Why is the maintenance for NA servers in prime time NA?

NA prime time is not 8PM PST, nor is it 12am PST. The basis of your entire question is flawed. Just because it's when YOU want to play doesn't make it prime time. I don't know how people like you don't annoy yourselves with the constant complaining. The rest of us sure do get sick of hearing it.

Uh... prime time for games and media is between 8 and 11pm generally. So yeah, it kinda is NA primetime. Granted it's at the tail end of EST prime, but for the West Coast and all other timezones? Yep it's primetime.

It doesn't even have to do with EU. A good example is the horrible promo events that EU suffered to get nice digital items while JPN players got easy ones.

The MMO HQ is in JPN so they will follow their timezone and business hours for their convenience. It is not as NA or EU company(ies) bought the rights to operate the game in our continents. If that were the case, the story would be totally different.
