Castrum Meridianum is ruined.

The real problem is that the quest is included in a routlette that is almost always this quest. Main Scenario Roulette always, always hits this quest. And if you’re trying to do your dailies, it gets old fast. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with you watching the cutscenes considering it is a free for all, button mash speed run.

I don’t know one person who doesn’t groan when MQR hits one of these quests. I suggest finding a level 70 mentor or friend willing to take you through it. It can easily be soloed by a level 60 paladin or dark knight. That’s how my boyfriend did it - he didn’t even need my heals.

My guess is, the reason its in roulette is to create an infinite cause for the duty slots to be filled for players doing main scenario. Without incentives put into older content, it would not be filled so easily for those wishing to complete main scenario. Perhaps there is a way SE could ease things for those who wish to view cutscenes but I still think its up to us in the playerbase to be considerate of new players.

It is really a creative and fun duty when not tied to the time constraints created in roulette and it would be bad if they got rid of it.
Perhaps if they put some rewards in that are only granted upon certain objectives being met, objectives that make it feasible for new players to not be left behind.

It seems unlikely that any big change is going to happen(if it was, it probly should have been years ago). But a simpler small change would be adjusting the quest prompts and advising players when they unlock it that the following dungeon involves more cutscenes then usual and that using the party finder rather then duty finder is ideal. Whenever the game throws 30ish mins of cutscenes at you they take the time to warn you before going in. Why not give this the same treatment?

I said it before I'll say it again those are honestly two beautiful instances I love them both but don't feel like all the community is like that there are some but the majority is honestly pretty decent. Plus the cut scenes being in the book in the inn. I was most thankful for that My first mistake was queue for my first time in those as a healer I thought it was a foible then one my FC mates told me about the scenes being in my book and most people just trying to speedrun the thing to A never ever heal until the point you see the main tank stop running and actually drawing the mobs to themselves or if you see one tank stuck there by the transporter and nobody else in the group nearby smashing things it mean the tank couldnt click the transporter fast enough they appreciate not dying *nod*

You usually only have 1-2 new players doing it for the first time. Even if one of them is a healer or tank, it doesn't matter if they watch the cut scenes while the rest continues.
I just landed Praetorium again yesterday and we had 3 new players (one tank, one dps, one healer). So we let them watch the cut scenes while we ran ahead. No problem. It was still really fast. You don't have to wait for them to finish watching the cut scenes.
They may have to watch a few bosses from behind the barrier but they'll still be present for Gaius/ Ultima/ Lahabrea.
It was done that way when I did the dungeon for the first time and most roulette groups still do it that way.

Of course if you want to fully experience everything I also recommend PF. As I said, you'll likely have to watch a couple of boss fights from behind the barrier.

SE should just turn them into solo instanced duties and/or have a personal squadron go with you.
No drama, no fuss.

From what I understand, SE apparently couldnt care less to fix this particular burning dumpster for YEARS.

I fell into it recently head-first, when leveling my first character. Still feel like vomiting when I remember this "Epic storytelling experience".
Biggest shame of this otherwise very polished game by a long shot.

I'm paying special attention when I see new players in my FC to close to lvl 50, to throrougly explain to them how to avoid the scourging as much as possible.

Better is to find a group of players to run the instances with who will wait for the cutscenes. Even better if you can persuade them to run the instances at "minimum ilvl" so you actually have to care about mechanics.
When run "properly" they are really fun instances and do indeed provide some "Epic storytelling".

The cutscenes do admittedly get a bit old after you have seen them several times.
