If it were like an FC mansion with 512 chambers, it would be logical, and would not requires anything beyond the server support needed for a large FC house...

Indeed, as I said to Tint, that's a pretty plausible reason for it. If it does bring some life to the wards/subdivisions it will be a good thing.

Or maybe this would be a final before 4.0? I don't know, but honestly this was kinda to be expected, the same was with housing, they need to extend the place somehow and put more housing at the place.

I think someone already said that, but I always understood the 512 as "512 per housing area" as in, 512 in Gridania, 512 in Limsa, and so on.
So 90 per ward would be a real step up.
But we'll never really know since they didn't specify how many apartment buildings were planned back then.

I wonder what would happen if all 30 plots in a single ward became FC property and each then had 512 Private Chambers built, that would be a total of 15,360 rooms which is far more from what we're getting with apartment buildings!...

Could it be that the game doesn't have the capacity for more!?...

What if every plot in the game was an individual FC and had 512 rooms each, that'd be 1,105,920 Private Chambers in total, could servers handle them!?...

Server limitations!?... Code limitations!?...

I must say I'm disappointed in the apartment buildings, each room is just slightly bigger than a Private Chamber!... :(

Is it even bigger? Looked about the same to me.. Still deciding now whether I actually want to spend half a million gil on another FC room or just save it for.. Something, I dunno.. Glamour maybe? >_>
