And that's all they'd need to change to fix this issue. Let people complete the boss fight with their team and then decide individually whether to save or not, just like they're already doing on the other floors.

This happened to me most recently when I was 25 27 in gear level. I leveled up on the 20-30 floors and it only happened once for me so far (btw your synched to 25 on the 30-40 levels i believe). I think it may be complete rng and the higher our levels the more crazy the rng difference is. Does it happen often at lower floors?

It did change in a hotfix. You can now get upgrades anywhere. Today I went from 27/29 to 28/30 on floors 1-10, and maxed out on the next set of floors. Finished my weapon in less time than it takes to repeat 41-49 for the right amount of upgrades.

I have finished two weapons since the hotfix and both weapons got their last upgrade before floor 25. The early floors go by so fast there's no reason not to try out one's luck. Higher floors also seem to have less silver chests in general, many of which explode.

That's good to hear, though it sounds like it trades off one problem for another. If we can get any upgrades from any floor, is there still any reason to go all the way down? Could people do the whole upgrade process by just repeating 1-10?

The +1/+1 guarantee at the end is a nice incentive, IMO.

I'd assume that the chance being higher on later floors, the guaranteed upgrade at the end (couple with actually being able to get more upgrades on the way back to the guaranteed, instead of just near the end of the process), and the potsherds rewards at the end will keep going to floor 50 relevant.

You still have to have completed floor 50 at least once before, I think. This prevents the people without Heavensward from completing a weapon.

And yes, while you technically can reach 30/30 from F1-10 now, most of the chests will still be duds. You still have the best odds of the final upgrades on F41-50.
